☕ Thank You for Joining Us – History Day at A Shepherd & Sons ☕

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday at our Holderness Road funeral home for our history coffee morning.

It was truly lovely to welcome so many members of the local community and to share the rich heritage of the building — formerly T S Annison & R Boddy — along with the fascinating funeral ledgers dating back to 1885. The interest, conversations and personal memories shared on the day made it a very special event for our team.

We were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm shown and are delighted that so many of you enjoyed learning more about the history of funerals in Hull and the role our funeral home has played within the community for generations.

Due to the fantastic response, we will certainly be looking to hold another history day in the Spring of 2026, and we look forward to welcoming you again.

Thank you once more for taking the time to visit us — it truly meant a great deal to us all.

We’re celebrating the rich heritage of our Holderness Road funeral home — formerly known as T S Annison & R Boddy — and we’d love you to be part of it.

Our team have been exploring the fascinating history of funerals within our Hull funeral homes, going back over a century. We proudly hold beautiful ledgers from 1885, capturing a remarkable piece of local history.
