Endometriosis is where cells similar to those in the lining of the womb (uterus) grow in other parts of the body. It can have a big impact on your life, but there are treatments that can help.

You might have some symptoms during your period, such as:
Severe period pain, that stops you from doing your normal activities
Heavy periods, where you need to change your pads or tampons every 1 to 2 hours, or you may bleed through to your clothes.

You can have other symptoms at any time, such as:
Pain in your lower tummy and back (pelvic area)
Pain when you poo or p*e
Pain during or after s*x
Extreme tiredness (fatigue)
Pain or bleeding in other areas, such as in the chest, which may cause shortness of breath and coughing up blood

Make an appointment to discuss if you suffer with any of these symptoms .

Brain Tumour Awareness Month

A brain tumour can cause headaches, but it is unusual for this to be the only symptom. Headaches are usually dull and constant, and sometimes throbbing.

Most people get headaches from time to time, often because of stress or tension. Headaches can happen for many different reasons. But if your headaches are getting worse, do not go away or are different from your usual headaches, speak to your GP.

It is very important you speak to a doctor if your headaches:

Wake you up at night
Are worse in the morning.
It is even more important if you also feel sick or notice a change in your eyesight.

Debbie had a benign brain tumour removed in 2008. She describes how she was diagnosed, the symptoms the tumour caused, how she coped with it and what treatme...

Bowel cancer screening in England is improving. Find out how ⬇

FIT kits, sent to everyone aged between 50 and 74, will now checked at a lower threshold. This means smaller amounts of blood in poo samples can be spotted — helping to find signs of cancer earlier, treatment can be more successful.

It’s the same simple test, just better at picking things up even earlier. Most people who use their kit won’t need further tests.
When your kit arrives, put it by the loo. Don’t put it off.
