Hyperkeratosis….callus refers to a patch of hardness on the outer layer of the skin. When friction applies repeated pressure to the skin, calluses develop.

Hyperkeratosis is the medical name for this thickening. The body uses hyperkeratosis to protect the skin from repeated rubbing, pressure, or irritation.

A plantar callus forms on the sole of the foot. These calluses tend to develop near the base of the toes, due to friction from the foot rubbing against the inside of the shoe.

Problems with walking or with the feet can cause calluses when these issues place added stress on certain parts of the foot.

ingrown toenails are also called onychocryptosis can be painful and unpleasant. When you have big nails they tend to pierce the skin. Some people have toenails that are curved and the corners or sides of it grow into the soft flesh.
The result leads to pain and swelling and it can sometime also turn into infections. The hurt and pain can make the toe very sore. No more pain for my client 🦶Before and after photos 👍

🦶The feet are foundation to our wonderful bodies. Let’s let their roots ( toes) spread out so we can move freely! Removing a plant from its restricted pot and providing it with needed space will transform the appearance and health of that plant 🪴 The human foot 🦶 is very similar.
If your feet have spent enough time within restrictive footwear you will have noticed your feet have lost some of their primal functions and have taken on the shape of those shoes!
But just as a plant is able to spend its roots we are able to rebuild our functions so if you can set aside a short amount of time each day you too can improve your foot function and shape.

Doing toe raises on a regular basis is a great way to take care of your feet. This exercise only takes a few minutes a day.
How to do toe raises
Toe raises can be done every day, at least one to two times per day.
You can do them at any time, including when you’re sitting down, standing in line, working, or watching TV.
How to do seated toe raises
1. Start seated with your feet flat on the floor. Rest your hands on your lap or the sides of your chair.
2. Lift your toes on your right foot, keeping the left foot planted firmly on the ground.
3. Hold for 3 to 5 seconds.
4. Lower your toes.
5. Repeat 10 to 15 times on each foot for a total of 3 sets.
To ease into this exercise, you can start by lifting only your toes, flexing at the ball of your foot. Once you feel comfortable, you can try a full toe raise, which involves lifting your foot so that only your heel stays on the ground.

How to do standing toe raises
For standing toe raises, find a space that you can stand on securely. That can be:
* on the floor
* on a step with your toes hanging out over the edge
* on an incline with your toes lower than your heels
From there, lift and lower, following the same steps from the seated toe raise.

Unique Feet do their Magic 🧚Removal of Hard Painful Calluses on side of Toe and Foot 🦶 … Pressure and friction from repetitive actions calluses to develop and grow. Some sources of this pressure and friction include: Wearing ill-fitting shoes. Tight shoes and high heels can compress areas of your feet.

Why are calluses so painful?
calluses are hard, painful areas of skin that often develop on the feet in response to pressure or friction. They happen when the skin tries to protect an underlying area from injury, pressure, or rubbing. Neither is dangerous, but they can cause irritation.

The Effects & Benefits of Reflexology
The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are “reflex” areas on the feet and hands that correspond to specific organs, glands, and other parts of the body. For example:

the tips of the toes reflect the head
the heart and chest are around the ball of the foot
the liver, pancreas and kidney are in the arch of the foot
low back and intestines are towards the heel.
Reflexology is claimed to work on an ‘energy’ level, to help restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium. Reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe. Each session of reflexology works on an individual basis. However, it has been suggested that following specific conditions may be alleviated by treatment with reflexology:

Asthma; Sleep disorders; Sinus pain; Pre-menstrual syndrome, menstrual irregularities and hormonal imbalances; Menopausal symptoms; Constipation; Diarrhoea; Headaches and Migraines; Neck pain; Shoulder pain; Sciatica; Back pain.

Many people use reflexology as a means of relaxing the mind and body and counteracting stress. It may help to cope on a physical, mental and emotional level and so encourage healing and the maintenance of health in all areas of life. Some doctors, consultants and other healthcare professionals recognise reflexology as a well-established, respected and effective therapy on an individual basis.

These are ten of the main claims made for Reflexology; that it:
Helps alleviate stress and tension.
Improves circulation throughout the body.
Aids in the removal of toxins.
Helps the body maintain a natural state of homeostasis.
Encourages the immune system to work at its optimum level.
Helps rejuvenate the system and increase energy levels.
Breaks up the blockages affecting the flow of energy throughout the body.
Relieves common aches and pains.
Contributes to the overall well-being of the body, mind, and soul.
Promotes healthy organ function.
Although Reflexology does not diagnose or treat specific ailments by definition, it has been found over time to relieve symptoms or ease pain or discomfort that have manifested themselves physically in the body – either as a result of stress, trauma or disease

Rough brittle nails, dry skin and poor circulation are some of the common problems that can occur as people age

Good foot health allows a more active lifestyle, which improves blood flow. Good circulation aids in recovery from injury or illness. It is also important for maintaining overall health.

Serious health problems can manifest themselves as symptoms in the feet
