Nicola was new to care when she joined Sirius, but she has taken to it like a duck to water, geting so much positive feedback from her clients. She is super helpful, ultra caring and always cheery - we can easily see why her clients love her so much!

Sadly weโ€™ve had to make the difficult decision to ๐œ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ฅ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐…๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐‚๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ซ ๐ข๐ง๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  planned for next Tuesday, 24th February.

We know how much support our local family carers need, and it was our hope to bring everyone together for a relaxed, helpful evening at our Anlaby office. While we won't be meeting in person this time, please know that our commitment to supporting you remains exactly the same.

If you are currently feeling overwhelmed or just need a bit of guidance, you donโ€™t have to wait for an event to get the answers you need. Last Friday, Sirius HQ was filled with smiles, laughter and the delicious aroma of Italian food(!) as we held our third annual ๐‹๐จ๐ง๐  ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐๐ฌ.

We believe the best care comes from consistency - having a familiar, friendly face walk through the door. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™re so incredibly proud to share that 23 members of our team have now been with Sirius for between 2 and 5 years!
Considering Sirius itself only launched 5 years ago, having so many colleagues stay with us for almost our entire journey is an amazing achievement.

17 of our awardees were able to join us for the lunch, and those reaching their 2 or 5 year milestone this year were all honoured with a beautiful bunch of flowers and a certificate of recognition. Thanks also to ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Bella Rosa Italian for the magnificent Italian feast that we all enjoyed together too!

A highlight of the afternoon was hearing from our Registered Manager, Emily, who shared a few personal words about every awardee, celebrating the unique qualities that make them so special to our clients and our team.

Joining us just months after we launched in 2020, they have been the bedrock of our service. We were delighted to gift them each a ยฃ100 John Lewis voucher to say "thank you" for their incredible loyalty.

Thereโ€™s a special kind of wisdom that only comes from a life well-lived. Whether itโ€™s a lesson shared over a pot of tea or a bit of guidance sat together in their garden, our elderly relatives are often the keepers of the stories that shape us.

Weโ€™re family, when family canโ€™t be there

We know from experience that great carers can make a genuine difference to our clientsโ€™ lives. Particularly when family canโ€™t be there, we can provide much needed companionship and social interaction, as well as professional, practical support.

We recruit our carers based on the โ€˜Mum Testโ€™ - in addition to the standard recruitment processes youโ€™d expect from a home care agency, at Sirius we only recruit people that weโ€™d trust to look after our own family โ€“ we feel thatโ€™s the very best test we can do.
