🟑 Today is Children in Need 2025 🟑

We’re proud to show our support for children and young people who need help the most. You may notice some of our staff are in yellow!

πŸ“Š Did you know?
β€’ The most common reasons children are identified as in need include family stress, domestic abuse, neglect, and mental health challenges.
β€’ Thousands of children rely on vital support services every year to ensure their safety, wellbeing, and opportunities for a brighter future.

Today is a reminder of why raising awareness and supporting Children in Need truly matters.
πŸ’› Every act of kindness helps.

πŸŽ„ Launching on 17th November 2025 πŸŽ„

This Christmas, The Avenues Medical Centre is proud to join Cash for Kids Mission Christmas 2025 β€” spreading joy to children and families in our community.

We are a public drop-off point for new, unwrapped gifts, and every donation, big or small, will help bring a little magic to those who need it most.

Your kindness can make sure no child wakes up without a gift on Christmas morning. Together, we can make this season brighter for everyone. ❀️

Calling all women! We have a representative from the Humber Breast Screening Service at the surgery today, why not come along if you have any questions.

This helps us to increase survival rates for women with breast cancer - it’s estimated that the NHS Breast Screening Programme saves the lives of 1,400 women in England every year.

We have a high number of sick patients in hospital right now, both in our emergency care area and waiting to move on to wards. As a result, the department is busy and waits are long.

If you feel unwell but it's not life-threatening or you think it can wait a bit longer, please and seek help from an Urgent Treatment Centre. UTCs such as as across the area are open today while Bransholme's UTC in east Hull remains open 24/7.

Our Emergency Department at Hull Royal Infirmary is really busy today.

So we can prioritise the most seriously ill or critically injured, please consider the following alternatives if you’re not in need of emergency or life-saving treatment:

β€’ NHS.UK - online service to help you find and choose the most appropriate service for your needs
β€’ NHS 111 - Call 111 free to speak to a trained advisor, such as a doctor, paramedic or nurse, who can advise on symptoms and let you know if your condition needs urgent attention or not
β€’ GP surgery - if your symptoms can be managed, please contact your GP surgery to make an appointment during routine surgery hours
β€’ Urgent Treatment Centres in Bransholme, Beverley, Goole, Bridlington and the UTC based at Hull Royal, no appointment necessary.

Thank you for your support. Please share this post.
