We had a truly special day at Bourne House Nursing Home on Tuesday, 11th November!
We were honoured to welcome the newly appointed Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Noah Hadjimichael, and hiafternoons deputy, Susie Ansari, for a wonderful Remembrance Day afternoon tea. The visit was made even more memorable as we celebrated our lovely Winnie’s 94th birthday!
The Mayor and Susie spent time chatting with each of our residents, sharing stories and laughter — and he even remembered familiar faces from our summer fundraiser! It was a heartwarming filled with smiles, cake, tea, and special memories. We can’t wait to see them again for our Christmas pantomime in December! 🇬🇧

What a truly unforgettable day we had at Bourne House Nursing Home on Tuesday 11th November!
Not only did we celebrate and embrace Remembrance Day with heartfelt performances and singers, but we also hosted a beautiful British tea party — and a very special birthday too!
Our lovely Winnie turned 94, and her day was filled with joy from start to finish. The wonderful Eloise and Hannah delighted everyone with their singing and even surprised Winnie in her room with a touching rendition of Happy Birthday. 🎶
In the afternoon, we were honoured by a visit from the Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Noel Hadjimichael, and his Deputy Mayor, Councillor Sue Ansari. They joined in the celebrations, sang along, and even shared cake, sandwiches, and drinks with Winnie and our residents.
The atmosphere was full of happiness and laughter — a day to remember for everyone. Winnie said she’d never had a birthday like it before! 💖🇬🇧🎂

We can’t wait to welcome the Mayor and Deputy back on 18th December for more festive fun at our Christmas pantomime!

At two minutes past eleven on Tuesday, 11th November 2025, Bourne House Nursing Home proudly welcomed, for the very first time, two beautifully talented singers from Many Concerts — Eloise and Helena.
They performed a wonderful hour-long set in honour of Remembrance Day for our amazing residents and wonderful care team, filling the home with joy, nostalgia and plenty of toe-tapping tunes!
Their repertoire included timeless wartime favourites such as Vera Lynn’s We’ll Meet Again, White Cliffs of Dover, Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye, Glenn Miller’s Chattanooga Choo Choo, Julie Garland’s Somewhere Over the Rainbow, The Andrews Sisters’ Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, Ella Fitzgerald’s Anything Goes, Sisters from White Christmas, and Mr Sandman by The Chordettes — along with many more beloved classics.
Our residents were singing, clapping, and swaying along, joined by our wonderful care team who couldn’t resist dancing too! The atmosphere was electric — a truly heartwarming performance that brought smiles, memories, and a few happy tears.
