SILS SiLS is an organisation providing support services across the South and South West of England. Our services are for adults with support needs.

SiLS provides person-centred support services for adults with support needs. Over the last 25 years we have been growing our friendly team of staff and clients and can now proudly say we support over 20% of all long term outreach clients in Bristol. What we mean by care or support:

If you need care, you have someone to look after you and provide for your needs. If you need support, you have someo

ne to help you do things for yourself. This includes adults who have physical or sensory impairments, learning difficulties, mental health issues, frail older people and people who for any other reason are unable to care for or protect themselves. We most often provide services to adults with learning difficulties and adults with mental health support needs. How can SiLS support you?

•Planning support to be individually tailored to your personal goals and lifestyle.
•Managing money.
•Daily living; shopping, cooking, cleaning etc.
•Creating and sustaining relationships with family and friends.
•Work and education opportunities.
•Living an all-round balanced and healthy lifestyle including exercise and nutrition.
•Keeping safe within your home and community.
•Talking on your behalf through the phone/in meetings/at appointments.
•To support you with moving on; in whatever way that means to you. Our 7 main principles are there to make sure that you:

• Have your rights
• Have choice
• Have privacy
• Are valued for who you are
• Have the opportunity to have a fulfilling life
• Can take part in your own community if you wish
• Have independence even if there is some risk

Are you thinking you might benefit from our support services?

If you or someone you know could use our assistance, referals can be made by your GP, social worker, family member, or even self-reffered.

To start the process, request a Care Act Assessment from your GP. They will refer you to Social Services, who will then arrange an assessment with a Social Worker. If support is deemed necessary, they will refer you to us. If you'd prefer privately funded support, feel free to reach out to us directly without going through your GP.

April marks World Autism Awareness Month.

In the UK, more than one in 100 people are autistic, with at least 700,000 autistic adults and children across the country. Today we wanted to come together in recognising and raising awareness on this topic, moving beyond awareness and towards increasing acceptance, inclusion and support for autistic people.

Here at SiLS, we're proud to offer our continued support to the autistic community, providing the tools to help people live independently, their way.

If you’d like to explore how we can support you or a loved one, please get in touch, we’re here to help.
