Extreme Remembrance. 2 minutes silence at 11am local time.
About 5000 above sea level, all of the team had a moment to reflect on past and future sacrifices of the Armed forces.
We timed it to be at the memorial of those who have lost their life in the Everest region.

In just under a month, my daughter clara Mansfield and I (Peter) start an adventure. We are off to climb Kilimanjaro, all 5,895m or 19,341 feet in old money.
This all started when, several years ago, I said that I would climb Kilimanjaro when I was 60 years old. That time is rapidly approaching, and I am hoping it will not be too much of an ask. Clara has volunteered to join me for the experience.
Clara has a near 33-year age advantage over me, although not the experience of physical exertion at altitude. We should be a well-matched team. When Clara was asked if she had any concerns about the climb or her fitness, she answered, “ I’m more concerned about having to share a tent for ten days with Dad than the exertion of climbing to the summit”. I'm not sure what to make of that.
Whilst we will have a wonderful time, it would be remiss not to use the opportunity to raise funds for a good cause. I am a non-executive director of Woodland Xperiences, a community interest company. It is committed to helping those working within and retired from the Armed Forces and Blue Light community.
The team at Woodland Xperiences provide adventurous activities on land and water to help people to recuperate in a natural environment. They provide support packages to assist in mental and physical health and well-being.
All money donated will go directly to buying new equipment to support the work carried out by Woodland Xperiences.
