Fun fact:
Did you know that Hogmanay is bigger in Scotland than Christmas primarily because Christmas was banned in Scotland for nearly 400 years following the Reformation (1640-1958), making New Year's Eve the main winter festival for feasting, music, and family, allowing deep-rooted traditions like first-footing and fire festivals to flourish. Scots worked through Christmas for centuries, shifting all celebration focus to the turning of the year.

2026 will see me joining the lads on the ice after a 43 year gap since the last time I iced. This will allow me to assess live on the ice to find potential issues that if dealt with now will avoid issues in the future.
Think I need some practice before I slide on my face during training 🤣🤣

All of us here at Footmonkey wish the best of luck to Matty and the rest of the Scotland squad down at Sheffield. We are proud to help the local lads in KIHC and Scotland squads to help keep them playing at peak performance. Matty recently won a wee competition I ran for a free foot treatment but seeing as that was all ok we gifted the team a box of selection boxes to keep their sugar levels up 🤣, Matty also recieved one of my cherished signed and game worn 24/25 fife flyers shirts.
