Missed Appointments - 24.03.26

Yesterday our Receptionists had to book 11 extra URGENT appointment in with our GPs (this is over and above their normal working day so in some cases means working well past their finish time).

In the same day we had 6 appointments that were booked in either on the day or within a 48 hour period that were missed.
If these patients had cancelled their appointments it would have cut the GPs extra work by half.

Can we please be mindful of other patients and also the already hard worked GPs and please cancel your appointment if you cannot attend.

Easter Closures 2026📆

We are closed both Friday 3rd April and Monday 6th April for the Easter weekend.

Please do not panic when it comes to prescriptions, we will have these all done as we always do. Please also do not put your prescription in weeks early due to these closures as we will reject them.

When we are closed and you have any issues that require medical attention please call 111. If your condition is life or limb threatening then it would be calling 999. Please be aware these services will be busier than usual so please only call if you feel you cannot wait till we reopen Tuesday 7th April.

We have had an increase in calls about dental issues recently and we just want to remind people that our GPs cannot treat/prescribe for your dental issues.

Please only come to A&E if you need urgent medical care for a critical emergency.

Some GP practices are taking part in a Protected Learning Time session on Tuesday 10 March between 1pm and 6pm.

Practices take part in a number of sessions throughout the year to allow staff to access training. During this time:

Due to Reception staff shortage today we are asking if non emergency calls can wait until next week.

We will still be actioning all prescriptions and sick lines as we normally would so please wait the full 48 hours before contacting us with any issues. Your pharmacy can also advise you when they will have the prescriptions ready so we advise to call them first.

Unfortunately due to sickness within our clinical team we are running at very limited capacity today for GP/ANP appointments.

We ask if you feel you can wait till next week then please call back then.

As always our Receptionists will be triaging calls and pointing you in the right direction, this is at the request of the GPs.

📝 From the day you order your script we have a 48 hour turn around.
👩‍🔬 Please check with your specific Pharmacy on their turnaround period
📵 Please wait 72 hours before calling us with any queries in regards to the Prescription if this hasn't arrived at your pharmacy.
(Keep in mind even if your Pharmacy has received your prescriptions they have their own time frame on actioning scripts)

As always we can set you up with Patient Access so you can order your prescriptions over the app, you can call us on 01592 805100 after 10:30am for this.

For any medications that are not on your repeat you can order them via our email - fife.pathhouserequests@nhs.scot

Please keep in mind the month of December we did not have a lot of pre bookable appointments due to Christmas and New Year so a lot of these appointments were booked the same day they were missed🤕

Please when you can, cancel your appointment you can do this the following ways:

•Replying CANCEL to your reminder text.
•Leaving a Voicemail when we are closed - we check these every morning before 8am.
•Joining the call queue if your appointment is later in the day or further ahead in the month.
