Colin Brown recently joined us at networking to share his journey and the purpose behind Gam Leap – supporting people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or in need of a fresh start.

He’s now launching the Leap App and has invited local businesses to attend the official launch:

Great to be back in the room today with some really positive discussion to kick off the year.

We took time to review our 2025 stats, reflect on what’s worked well, and then shift the focus firmly onto 2026 expectations, goals and how we continue to add value for one another.

The energy in the room was spot on — open conversations, clear asks and a real commitment to making this year count.

A big welcome as well to our new member James Hurles - Howdens Kirkcaldy, great to have you join us already and get involved from day one.

Looking forward to building on this momentum over the weeks ahead.

🎣 Member Spotlight | Congratulations Mike!

We’re delighted to see Mike Horn, one of our Fife Networking members, currently sitting in pole position for the top prize in the Heaviest Cod League.

Based in Kirkcaldy, Mike landed an impressive 6lb 1oz cod during round two, putting him at the top of the leaderboard with three legs still to go — no small feat given the challenging sea conditions on the day.

It’s always great to celebrate the achievements of our members, both in business and beyond. Best of luck to Mike for the remaining rounds — we’ll be keeping an eye on the results!

🎄 Our Final Fife Networking Meeting of 2025! 🎄

We wrapped up the year this morning with plenty of festive spirit — Christmas jumpers, good laughs and even a surprise visit!

Congratulations to Michael Crookston and Ed Waugh, who took home today’s prizes. Well deserved!

As part of our Christmas tradition, we were proud to donate to two charities close to our hearts: Love Oliver and Fife Gingerbread. Their work makes a real difference to families at a time of year when support matters most.

This marks the end of an incredible year for the group:
✨ 900 referrals shared amongst members — a fantastic testament to the strength of our network and the commitment of everyone involved.

Thank you to every member, visitor and supporter who contributed to such a wonderful 2025.

🎄 Fife Networking Christmas Party 2025 🎄

What a fantastic day and night we had at our Christmas Party! A huge thank you to Lóuie Brown's and HUGOS Bar & Pavilion for looking after us so well.

There may have been one too many sore heads the next morning… but plenty of brilliant memories were made, and that’s what it’s all about! 🤣🍾✨

We’re now heading into our final meeting of the year this week, and looking forward to rounding off what has been an incredible year for the group.

🙏 A Powerful Morning at Fife Networking – Thank You Colin Brown

This morning we had the privilege of hearing from Colin Brown (Gambling Leap), who bravely shared his journey through 25 years of gambling addiction and the extraordinary turnaround he has made in his life.

Colin’s honesty, vulnerability and determination left a real impact on the room.
His message was clear: addiction can affect anyone, and support truly matters.

Through Gambling Leap, Colin now speaks in schools, workplaces and communities, helping others understand the realities of addiction, the stigma attached to it, and—most importantly—that recovery is possible. His upcoming LEAP Recovery App aims to give people discreet, practical tools to find accountability and rebuild confidence, inspired by Colin’s own recovery journey.

What he shared today was powerful, brave and important.
Addiction doesn’t always look the way people expect, and many struggle in silence. By speaking openly, Colin is helping create the awareness and compassion our communities desperately need.

Great session at Fife Networking today! 👥

A brilliant turnout and a really valuable presentation from the Jobcentre Plus Employer Services Team, giving us insight into the support available for employers across Fife — from tailored recruitment advice to work trials, sector-based training programmes and access to a wide pool of candidates.

It’s always good to hear real local success stories and see how partnership working continues to make a difference for businesses and jobseekers alike.
