Christmas is just around the corner! 🎅🎄

We’ll be closed over the holidays so make sure you’re ordering your prescriptions with time to spare.

As a reminder, our Christmas opening hours are:
Wed 24th December - open as usual
Christmas Day 25th December - closed
Boxing Day 26th December - closed
Sat 27th December - open as usual

And our New Year opening hours are:
Wed 31st December - open as usual
New Year's Day 1st Jan - closed
Fri 2nd Jan - closed
Sat 3rd Jan - open as usual

And we are closed on Sundays as always.

For most people coughs, colds and stomach bugs make us feel unwell for a few days, but for those already in hospital it can be much more serious.

With winter illnesses circulating, we're reminding visitors to stay home if you're experiencing symptoms such as:

🤒 Sore throat
🤧 Cough or runny nose
🤢 Vomiting or diarrhoea (wait 48 hours after symptoms stop)

Even mild symptoms can pose serious risks to vulnerable patients. Let’s work together to keep our hospitals safe this winter.

Another major endorsement of the effectiveness of GLP1 medications in tackling obesity. Unfortunately, this recommendatiom by the World Health Organisation is unlikely to make it much easier to obtain these game-changing medications on the NHS in the short and medium term.

We want to draw patients attention to an application to open a new pharmacy in Kirkcaldy, which we believe would have a negative effect on Dysart and other pharmacies already providing a service to the same area. (Kingdom Park, near the Gallatown roundabout). There is a public consultation process (closing 31/12/25) which NHS Fife will use to help decide if a new pharmacy is needed.
