Due to clinical staff shortages there will be no GP in Gatehouse tomorrow afternoon, Thursday 11th December.
Patients will be asked to travel to Kirkcudbright Health Centre if they need to be seen.

Due to the recent increase in respiratory illness those attending appointments will be asked to wear a face covering whilst in the waiting room and clinical rooms to prevent further spreading of those illnesses and to keep all our staff and patients safe whilst attending the practice.

Our practice is currently experiencing significant pressure due to a shortage of clinicians for a number of reasons which is likely to last until the festive period. As a result, our capacity to offer appointments is extremely limited.

We kindly ask patients to contact the practice for appointments only if your need is urgent. For non-urgent or routine matters, please consider using alternative services such as NHS Inform, your local pharmacy, or the opticians where appropriate.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time, and we remain committed to providing safe and effective care to all our patients.

If you or a family member lives with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), let's start to think about how to prepare for winter - and that includes making sure you have the right medication for your condition.
Asthma: if you're using a reliever or blue inhaler more than three times a week, or if you're experiencing night-time waking or coughing, get in touch with your GP practice and ask for a review.
COPD: if you are needing multiple courses of steroids or antibiotics, or if your breathing is stopping you getting out and about, a review at your GP practice might be able to help you too.
