Nominate your nurse or midwife today – DAISY Award!

The DAISY Award is an international recognition programme to celebrate and recognise nurses and midwives who go above and beyond every day to not only provide patients and families with excellence in clinical care but also compassion. By collecting nominations from patients, families, and co-workers, the DAISY Award is a way to thank nurses and midwives for the care and kindness they provide.

If you’d like to nominate a nurse or midwife, head to the NHS Orkney website and complete the nomination form, https://www.ohb.scot.nhs.uk/feedback-and-involvement/daisy-awards/.

The DAISY Award was established in 1999 in memory of J Patrick Barnes who passed away after an 8 week stay in hospital. Everyone who is nominated for a DAISY Award receives a certificate and pin badge to celebrate the meaningful recognition made by patients, family members or co-workers. The nominations are then blinded and sent to an internal committee within NHS Orkney to read and be scored using the DAISY Award criteria. Honourees will then be selected throughout the year and celebrated at a dedicated ceremony.
