A little Monday morning magic! Look at the reaction to those needles. This client has been experiencing knee problems and issues with his Iliotibial band (IT band). Upon investigation the medial meniscus in his knee felt strained, which makes the knee feel like it is going to give way. Which, especially in more senior clients has quite an impact as it starts to affect their confidence with walking in general, going up and down stairs and even just standing from a seated position. Following an initial assessment, soft tissue treatment and acupuncture this client felt a huge improvement. He has been given some stretches to do at home and hopefully will continue to improve.
Acupuncture is available as a stand alone treatment or I often include it as part of a soft tissue/sports massage treatment where I feel it would be beneficial. The results speak for themselves.

😔Cancelled appointments & No Shows😔

Unfortunately this week I have had two clients not turn up and one cancel an hour before their appointment.

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. I understand that life happens and sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary. However, to ensure fairness and availability for all clients, I kindly ask that you observe our cancellation and no-show policy.

📅 Cancellation Policy:
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the scheduled service.

🚫 No-Show Policy:
If you miss your appointment without notice, a 100% no-show fee will apply.
Repeated no-shows may result in the need to prepay for future appointments.

This policy allows us to manage our schedule effectively and offer appointment times to other clients in need.

Happy Bank Holiday Friday!

This week has seen amazing results with lymphatic drainage massage. Following surgery to correct a 24 inch blockage in the femoral artery (that is going to be one heck of a scar!) the affected leg was understandably very swollen and sore. This restricts movement of the knee and ankle joints, gentle exercise would aid the body in eliminating the fluid so it’s a viscous circle. Lymphatic drainage techniques are very gentle, they work to firstly make room for the fluid to flow and then encourage it to move. Some gentle stretches also help within manageable limits. The result is a reduction in swelling, the skin stops feeling so tight and itchy and often inflamed. We paired this with acupuncture to the lumbar spine as the epidural has left one side feeling rock solid; this didn’t help my client feel like his mobility was improving either.
All in all a useful set of techniques to have in the toolbox to put together. The next morning I received an update from a very grateful client to say his calf muscle felt “a million times better” and he could now flex his ankle. It’s work in progress but heading the right way.
