There’s a quiet pressure that builds around exam season. It doesn’t always show up loudly, but it sits there in the background, affecting sleep, confidence, and how young people see themselves.

Next Thursday and Friday, we’re creating a space where that pressure can be gently held.

Carla, one of our amazing volunteers and a trained CBT therapist, will be at our drop-in centre between 10am and 12pm, offering support specifically for students preparing for their A-levels. Whether it’s anxiety, overwhelm, struggling to switch off, or simply needing someone to talk things through with, she will be there.

Our doors remain open from 9am to 12pm as always. This is a drop-in, so there is no need to book. Students can come as they are, stay for as long as they need, and access support in a way that feels comfortable for them.

Sometimes it only takes one conversation to help things feel more manageable. šŸ’™

Some of the most powerful support doesn’t come from words. It comes from presence.

Today is National Pet Day, and it feels important to recognise the quiet role animals like Domino play in our space. For so many of the people we support, especially those who find it hard to trust, sit still, or even walk through the door, connection doesn’t start with conversation. It starts with something that feels safe.

Domino doesn’t ask questions. He doesn’t need explanations. He sits beside you, steady and calm, offering something many people haven’t experienced in a long time, a sense of being accepted exactly as you are. And in that moment, nervous systems begin to settle, shoulders drop, and something softens.

In therapy, we often talk about regulation, safety, and connection. Domino lives it without needing to understand the theory. He meets people where they are, without expectation, without pressure. Just presence.
For some, he’s the reason they come back. For others, he’s the first step towards trusting a human again.

Today is about celebrating that. Not just pets, but the role they play in helping people feel safe enough to begin.

Post a photo of your pets below and lets show them some love 🩵

Are you looking for a space in Knutsford that actually feels right for the work you do?

We created our Creative Hub at Stable Minds with intention. Not just as a room to hire, but as a space that feels calm, welcoming and easy to step into. Somewhere people can arrive and soften a little, whether they are attending a workshop, a therapy session or a small group.

It’s already been used for everything from wellbeing sessions to creative workshops, and what we hear time and time again is how different it feels. There’s something about being in a space that has been built around connection and care that naturally changes the tone of what happens within it.

The space comfortably holds up to 12 people and is available at Ā£25 per hour and discounts for day rate. We’ve kept it simple on purpose. No complicated processes, no hidden costs. You bring what you do, and we’ll support by sharing and promoting where we can.

If you’ve been holding an idea and just need the right space to bring it to life, this might be it.

Feel free to message us or email contact@stable-minds.co.uk to find out more šŸ’™

April Fools’ Day usually comes with jokes, pranks and a lot of laughter. And while there is space for that, the reality we see every day at Stable Minds looks very different.

Behind closed doors and behind smiles, there are children, young people and adults holding far more than they should have to. We sit with the 11-year-old who cannot make it into school because anxiety has taken over. We support the teenager who feels safest behind a screen because the world feels too overwhelming. We listen to the parent who is trying to keep everything together while quietly falling apart themselves.

At Stable Minds, we meet people exactly where they are. That might be in a counselling room, walking side by side in nature, or even sitting together in a gaming world because that is where a young person feels safest to start. There are no thresholds, no waiting lists, and no expectation to be anything other than who you are in that moment. Just real, human support, built around the individual.

So instead of a prank, we will say this. If today feels like just another day you are getting through, you are not alone in that. There is space for you here, exactly as you are, whenever you are ready. ā˜‚ļø

We are reaching out to our community because we need your help.

Our drop-in service has always been a space where people can walk through the door and be met with warmth, without judgement, and without waiting. Over recent months, we have seen a significant increase in people coming to us in need of support. Whilst this tells us how vital this service is, it also means we are starting to feel the pressure of meeting that need safely and consistently.

We are now looking to grow our volunteer team to help support our weekday drop-in sessions, Monday to Friday between 9am and 12pm. This role is not about having all the answers. It is about being present, offering a listening ear, making a cup of tea, and helping someone feel a little less alone in that moment. Our volunteers are often the first point of connection, and that matters more than people realise.

If you have a few hours to give, a kind and grounded approach, and a genuine care for others, we would love to hear from you. Full support and guidance will be provided, and you will be part of a team that truly looks after one another.

If volunteering is not something you can commit to right now, sharing this post could help us reach someone who can. That simple act can make a real difference.

Congratulations Chris on reaching your 100 placement hours today šŸ‘ šŸ™Œ

This hasn’t just been about completing hours. It’s been about your presence, your willingness to learn, and the way you sit alongside people with genuine care. You bring a calmness and steadiness that allows others to feel safe, and that is something that can’t be taught, it comes from within you.

The journey to becoming a counsellor asks a lot. It asks you to reflect, to grow, to stay with discomfort, and to keep turning up even when you doubt yourself. You’ve done that. Quietly, consistently, and with integrity.

Every one of those 100 hours holds moments where someone felt heard because of you. Moments where you leaned into the work, even when it stretched you. That says so much about the kind of practitioner you are becoming.

We’re really proud of you, Chris. Thank you for everything youve done and do for Stable Minds. 🩵

We're still taking this in a little bit this morning.

Last night, Stable Minds was named runner-up for the High Sheriff Outstanding Community Impact Award 2026… and it’s hard to put into words what that actually means.
Because this never started as something big.

It started with sitting with people. Hearing what they were going through and knowing it shouldn’t be this hard to get support. Knowing people deserved somewhere they could just walk into and be met properly.

So that’s what we built.

No waiting lists. No referrals. No barriers. Just a space where people can come as they are.

And now here we are… with over 3,000 people who have trusted us with their stories.

That’s what this is about.

Not the room last night, not the certificate… but every single person who’s walked through our doors, every conversation, every moment where someone felt even just a tiny bit less alone.

I’m so proud of our team. Honestly, the way they show up every day for there clients and community os what its all about.

And I’m so grateful to our community for trusting us, shaping this with us, and growing alongside us.
This means a lot. It really does.

And we’re only just getting started
