I know first-hand the impact stress can have on your health…
My life before I started .massage.therapy looked very different. I had a stressful career where I was working 60+ hour weeks, all whilst juggling single parenthood to my two girls. I saw the warning signs of burnout creeping up on me, but as someone who is motivated and high functioning, I didn’t listen and thought I just needed to try harder ✨
I lived in a constant state of stress but it had become so normal to me I didn’t recognise how bad things had become.
Until one day it eventually overwhelmed my nervous system.
It had taken such a toll on my mental and physical health it felt like someone had flicked my ‘off’ switch, like the light inside had gone out and I was struggling to function 💡
My body told me I needed to make changes. I needed to take better care of my mental, physical and emotional health.
I started running more frequently, and taking care of my body, and this reignited my passion for sports and performance 🏃🏻♀️
Then…when my youngest daughter, Grace, underwent spinal surgery in January 2020, everything changed…
I wanted to do everything I could to help her during her rehabilitation, so under medical guidance and using my previous knowledge I was able to safely and gently massage areas to manage the pain. This helped increase movement, flexibility and strength, and stimulate the nerves that were damaged from the surgery.
Through Grace’s journey, and my new found passion for physical and mental health, wellness, sports and performance, I gave up my management career to retrain and create my own wellness business in remedial massage 🤍🌿
I now help everyone from athletes, including Iron Man and Hyrox, to high-performing professionals optimise their health and recover from the physical and mental stresses of everyday life.
