What is OCT and why do we offer it?
At Wendy Diddams Optometrists, we’re proud to offer OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) as part of your eye care.
OCT is an advanced scan that takes highly detailed, 3D images of the back of your eye. It allows us to see beneath the surface of your retina—something a standard eye test alone can’t do.

OCT helps us to:
• Detect eye conditions like glaucoma and macular degeneration at a much earlier stage
• Monitor any changes in your eye health over time

We’ve invested in Optomap® technology to give our patients an even more advanced eye examination experience.

Traditional fundus photography captures a small section of the retina (usually around 30–50°)
Optomap® ultra-widefield imaging captures up to 200° of your retina in one scan -that’s about 80% of the retina, often without the need for dilating drops.

This week we received a certificate of appreciation from the Knutsford Lions group as we have been a collection point for used spectacles for several years now.
The Knutsford Lions collect old spectacles and redistribute them to eye clinics throughout the developing world.
Please don’t throw away your old glasses, bring them in to the practice and we can add them to the Lions collection so they can be reused to help someone else.
