We need your help!

We were badly hit by storm Darragh and our yurts were damaged and destroyed by the hurricane force 90 plus mph winds!!

The storm started on Friday night, it was impossible to sleep with the fierce roar of the wind and the worry. The power cut out in the early hours and we just had to wait it out and for it to get light on Saturday morning. That’s when we saw the wreckage!! All the yurts had been flattened including the big 32ft, the only one still standing was Lizzie’s healing yurt, but not for long, she saw the wind crush it! It was incredibly intense because the storm lasted over 36 hours. The 90 mph winds continued all of Saturday, it was too dangerous to try and rescue anything.

The storm damage is a massive setback and we need your help to rebuild and replace the yurts.

We think it’s possible to save the big 32ft yurt, it needs a new wheel, one trellis wall and some canvas repairs; considering the battering it got, this is incredible!

The 20ft and three other 12ft yurts are totally destroyed, we might be able to rebuild one 12ft yurt from all of the bits to replace the healing yurt. This is where Lizzie works from and offers naturopathic consultations and reiki sessions, it is a much needed space to enable her to continue to work.

Those of you who know us and have been following along since our nomadic wedding days and before that the Chocolate Harlot Parlour, you’ll know that yurts are very much part of our lives, like family. Our yurts have been a space for many celebrations over the last 18 years as a festival venue and then hosting over 100 weddings all around the UK.

Two years ago, after many years of looking we managed to buy a derelict small holding with magical land that is ancient and wild covered in verdant green moss and ferns, surrounded by ancient hedge banks with narly blackthorn and hawthorn trees, idyllic views, meadows and vast starry skies with easy access to beautiful beaches, waterfalls and mountain lakes. It’s the perfect location to retreat and to explore the wild. It ticks all the boxes for our vision and dream of creating an off grid yurt retreat - and a space for community, workshops, talks and gatherings.

We are ready to welcome you to our land! The Yurt Retreat is open to receive your bookings.

Come and be held and supported by myself and the land, it is magical here and and abundant with seasonal medicine.

You can feel the magic when you drive up the lane lined with luminous beech trees, moss and ferns.

The yurts are beautiful, private and peaceful and have everything you need to feel comfortable and relaxed. They are set up in the meadow with views looking out over fields of buttercups.

You can come and create your own retreat, enjoy the yurts and the land and be totally independent. There is a yurt kitchen for you to use and we are very fortunate to be close to a organic farm shop.

Or I can cook for you and be here to guide and support you.

My vision and dream is to cook for you here, on our land, with food grown and raised here or locally. Seasonal, simple, nourishing food that feeds your soul.

I can cater for all dietary needs.

For those of you who don’t know, my name is Lizzie, I am a mother, naturopath, holistic nutritionist, kinesiologist and chef, my work is rooted in my kitchen and garden and inspired by the seasons and natural cycles.

I am passionate about all things food: biodynamic farming, eating locally and seasonally, foraging, fermenting and wild medicine.

I spent many years being part of a team creating and hosting well-being retreats and holding space for large groups of people and also have worked as a holistic chef on yoga retreats around the world.

You can come and retreat alone, with your children, partner or group of friends, maximum 4 people at a time.

You can also book one to one sessions with me which will inform what you need during your stay.

We are located between the Ceredigion coastline and the Cambrian mountains so there’s plenty of places to explore, walk and wild swim.

I am offering the summer dates here for you first before opening up the bookings on AirBnb.

2 nights minimum stay, can be the weekend or mid week.

£140 per night.

The yurts have arrived finally on our own land! My friend saw them and said they look has if they have come up from the ground, like they’ve always belonged there, and it really does feel like that.

For those of you who know of our previous nomadic life on the wedding road you’ll know how much this means to us. For those of you who don’t know for 10 years we used to host beautiful yurt weddings all over the country.

So after many years of of putting up yurts in other peoples gardens, fields etc and rolling from wedding to wedding we have finally found a magical and wild derelict farm in west wales, it feels like it’s made of the same stuff as us and it feels like home. The beautiful old welsh word, cynefin - ‘a place where one feels they ought to live, and nature feels just right and welcoming’ describes the feeling perfectly.

We are setting up a yurt retreat so that you can come and experience this wild and wonderful place too.

The nature is incredible; think verdant green moss and ferns, ancient hedge banks, fields full of buttercups, clover and cuckoo flowers.. the land is currently surrounded with blossoming hawthorn, it’s breathtaking!

We woke this morning to the sound of the cuckoo, sat and watched the swallows swooping gracefully and we regularly see red kites and wild geese.

We’ve seen hares, hedgehogs (including the one we bought with us) and also a seal at the local beach.

We are located between the stunning Ceredigion coastline and the wild Cambrian mountains, both are a short drive away… rivers, waterfalls, lakes… there is so much to explore!
