26th August was National Dog Day;

Having an animal is good for emotional wellbeing, as studies show interactions with pets can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression by lowering cortisol levels and increasing "feel-good" chemicals like oxytocin. Pets also provide valuable companionship, reduce loneliness, encourage more physical activity, and can give a sense of purpose through daily routines and care.
