One of the things I often see in clinic is people fighting against their own bodies.

This gentleman came in with Parkinsonism and a severe lean to his right side.

After a session of Kinetic Chain Release the change in his posture was immediately noticeable.

Often the body isn't weak — it's just locked into protective patterns.

When the tension patterns change, the body can reorganise itself surprisingly quickly.

Quiet for the next week and Facebook are doing everything they can to keep it that way!

Please help by sharing a post or spreading the word about what we do!

Well after doing really well to work on my posts to build up my Facebook reach and interactions it’s just took another nosedive!

I haven’t changed anything but in the last few days my average views have went from 2000 to 1000 to 600 and now to around 300 per post.

My treatment room diary is pretty quiet for the next week and if I can’t get anyone to see my posts then I don’t see that as likely to change.

Please help me help those in need by pointing them in my direction, sharing a post or article that resonated with you- or popping in for a cuppa or a quick refuel!

I am hosting an intimate seminar on why nervous system state is the upstream driver that dictates most of our lives from our mood, personality, and performance, to our health and relationships!

Join us at The Entourage Effect on the 21st of March for a 90 minute deep dive with time for plenty of questions at the end.

Numbers are limited to 16 to keep the atmosphere close and interactive - with only 10 spaces left currently.

I’ll drop the link in the comments for anyone who wants to know more.

Let’s talk about

If you have had the weight of the world on your shoulders it begins to take its toll after a while…

Connective tissue— also known as fascia— responds to emotional and physical stress by tightening, especially around the hips, neck, shoulders, and jaw, slowly compressing our bodies and restricting more than just our movement.

Blood flow, lymphatic drainage, even nerve function can be affected leading to symptoms like loss of sensation, sciatica, and cold feet.

Most people think posture is something you correct.

But posture is usually the visible result of accumulated tension.

In this session we didn’t coach alignment.

We addressed fascia, joints and nervous system tone together.

When protective tone reduces, the body decompresses naturally.

No forcing.

Just better organisation.

That’s the difference between chasing posture… and changing the system underneath it.

If, like me, you are a side-sleeper, and you have broad shoulders (or even if you have regular, human-sized shoulders) you will probably have experienced waking with pain or stiffness in your neck, shoulders, or jaw — especially if you are hyper-mobile!

It might even have been severe enough to leave you with tingling, numbness, altered or reduced sensation in your hands and fingers— or severely reduced range of motion in your arms and head!

In some cases it can even cause headaches and dizziness/vertigo known as cervicogenic symptoms (meaning originating from the neck)

At The Entourage Effect we specialise in restoring health, performance, and recovery by calming the nervous system and releasing and realigning the underlying tissue structures that support our whole body- called Connective Tissue, or Fascia- that respond to temperature, movement, force (tension/compression/torsion/shear) breath, emotional state, and physical and psychological threat— and can create “muscular” tension, trap nerves, and reduce blood flow, lymphatic drainage, and range of movement!

It is an amazing organ that not only provides the support structure for all the other tissues in our body— but was responsible for keeping our ancestors alive by reacting to physiological states like perceived threats, and to physical trauma like cuts and burns- to pull our body away from the source of pain or injury, clamp down on nerves and blood vessels, or in extreme cases to pull us into the foetal position to protect our soft face, throat, and the vital organs in our chest and abdomen!

If you sleeping in a heightened nervous system state, curled up in a tight ball, or balancing precariously on a shoulder every night— that’s 8 hours every evening of your fascia getting tight and restrictive from unconscious low-level bracing!

At The Entourage Effect integrated alternative wellness centre in Lanark we provide a range of therapies, supplements, superfoods, CBD, and our own unique style of support, to help you get to sleep, improve your quality of sleep— or just help you deal with the aftermath when you do!
