February is Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️

Oesophageal cancer can be difficult to spot early, which is why awareness matters. Common signs and symptoms may include difficulty swallowing, persistent heartburn or acid reflux, unexplained weight loss, chest pain, a hoarse voice or ongoing indigestion.

If symptoms persist or worsen, it’s important to seek medical advice as early as possible. 🌿

Certain risk factors can increase the likelihood of oesophageal cancer, including smoking, heavy alcohol use, long-term acid reflux, obesity and a poor diet.

Understanding these risks and making positive lifestyle changes, alongside listening to your body, can help with early detection and prevention.

Holistic Cancer Centre Service Update 🚨

After 20 years based at Ashburton Road in Claughton, the Holistic Cancer Centre is preparing to move to a new home.

We are looking for suitable premises and any support or information from local business's who may be able to help our charity.

Due to recent NHS funding cuts affecting local services, we will be downsizing and are currently searching for suitable new premises.

Our service will continue as normal for now. However, there may be a short pause in appointments while we relocate.

We sincerely apologise in advance for any temporary disruption this may cause.

Please be reassured that we are working hard to secure an equally comfortable, safe and supportive nurse‑led clinic space for our client community.

We look forward to welcoming you into our new environment soon and will keep you updated as plans progress.
