What a busy weekend and a great youth cafe with Lancashire Youth Challenge

So proud of these young people and all their commitment throughout the year . No matter what the weather they stuck with it . They grew amazing food and grew together as an amazing team .

So it’s happening ! The young people are running another cafe this weekend with a Halloween theme. Everyone welcome and they even produced a pop up shop with lots of goodies .

As we near the time when the veils are thin and the shops are rammed with merchandise and plastic crap to hook us into thinking this is what it’s all about . Isn’t it time we stopped ! Harvested and cooked our produce and came together with community to seriously look at how do we go back ! Go back to how our ancestors lived from the land with such grace and knowledge . We can do this ! and I so grateful to have the skills to know how while many fall asleep.

If you going to buy a pumpkin ! Keep the seeds! Feed the birds! Grow again ! and make delicious soup or curry !

Autumn is really here and I’m loving the group of young people that come for flourishing Fridays as part of well-being program called “Time to Breathe “ and that’s what it is all about, chilling by the fire ,sharing stories and this week we looked at creating habitats for wild life . We constructed a hedgehog house for our rescue project and had fun building a willow dead hedge for wild life .

We had time to whittle willow and make some charcoal to write out our reflective words.

The goats escaped but that was all part of the fun 🍁🍁🍁
