St John's Hospice

St John's Hospice St John's Hospice is a charity. All of our care, compassion and support is offered free of charge to patients and their families or carers.
(375)

St John’s Hospice provides care, compassion and support for patients with life shortening illnesses across the South Lakes, North Lancashire and parts of North Yorkshire. Our care however is not cost free, around a quarter of our funding is from the government and the remaining three-quarters is raised by people like you in our local community. This is why St John's fundraises throughout the year with events, the St John's lottery, monthly giving schemes, wills and our shops so we can be there for one of the most difficult times in people’s lives. Our services include an inpatient ward for end-of-life care as well as pain and symptom management, a Hospice at Home service for people who choose to spend their last time at home and need our support, Clinical Nurse Specialists who support people with planning and pain & symptom management, and a Respite Service for carers of loved ones who need respite time during the day or night. St John's also offers pre and post bereavement support plus other services you may not associate with a Hospice such as Social Workers and Therapists.

💚Thank You Thursday💚

🌼Thank you to the Nuns of the Monastery of Our Lady of Hyning who kindly opened their home and gardens to visitors on Sunday to support St John’s Hospice. Thank you to Debbie Mason, who planned and oversaw the refreshments and event - even a children's teddy bear hunt was included! The total received by St John’s Hospice from this event was a wonderful £1600.

🪂A big thank you to supporter Benedict Connolly who took to the skies for his fundraising and completed a skydive for us at the weekend. Benedict said “It was fantastic and I’m proud to do what I can to help fundraise” He has raised £400 so far with money still coming in!

🧶A big thank you to our supporter, Julie Callaghan from Kirkby Lonsdale for these cute felted pebble key rings - complete with a poem by Julie! We will have these for sale at various community events throughout the year.
