THANK YOU THURSDAY 💚
We have lots of thanks to share with you all this week, from our wonderful supporters!🙏
Firstly two incredible Y11 pupils from Bay Leadership Academy have braved the shave to support the Hospice! Well done Charlie and Brandon and Thank you! 🪒💚
Family and friends gathered at Salt Ayre last Sunday to take part in Lancaster Half Marathon, in memory of Cam Gallacher, who sadly passed away earlier this year following a road accident in Thailand. His family and friends said “Cam was many things - adventurous, funny, loyal, always up for a laugh and he brought us all so much joy with his infectious smile and energy. Cam wasn’t a runner and he’ll be looking down on us, calling us daft with that little smirk on his face as we go”
So far they have raised over £9,000, which is amazing, well done everyone! Thank you!💚
Pauline & Margaret organised a coffee morning and the residents of Overton and surrounding areas attended and helped raised a fantastic £651.68. Thank you Ladies. 💚
You may remember our wonderful supporter, Gary Taylor who took on the epic challenge of walking John’s O Groats to Lands End in May this year, over 900 miles in under forty days! Gary completed his walk but continued his fundraising as was determined to raise as much as possible for St John’s Hospice, this week Gary called in with his support crew to present us with a whopping £7,390.00! Brilliant Gary! Thank you so much! 💚
Tracey & her daughters Laura & Ellen recently ran the Manchester Half Marathon in support of SJH in memory of Tracey’s lovely Mum, Vera who was cared for by SJH in her final days. This is the ladies first time doing anything like this (& possibly the last!!) but they had an amazing day and were carried along with everyone’s enthusiasm and support along the route – they manage to raise a fantastic £890 which Tracey’s husband has said that he will top up to £1000! Thank you so much & well done ladies! 💚
We are delighted to tell you about a beautiful children’s Christmas book that was written by a patient, and her husband has fulfilled her wishes by getting it published and all proceeds coming to St John’s. Cyril the Squirrel is a tender tale about friendship, change and the quiet magic of kindness. We are so grateful to the author Jill, and her family for their support with this book, and also to many local businesses that have agreed to stock it for us.
