UHMBT Careers & Apprenticeships Team The UHMBT Careers Team's official Facebook feed. We provide information about career pathways into the NHS & Social Care sector.

The Careers & Engagement Team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust provides a service. Firstly, a service to the Trust and the wider healthcare community, by providing opportunities for our workforce to demonstrate the opportunities within their sector. In addition, we provide a service to the education providers in our area, opening up placements for their students undertaking vocational qualifications in health and social care and supporting their students with careers talks and mock interviews. Lastly and perhaps most importantly, we provide a service to members of our community who are seeking healthcare employment opportunities. This can be in the form of volunteering, work experience, pre-employment programmes, educational placements and general guidance on healthcare careers. We work closely with our Careers Team colleagues across the North West of England, ensuring that our offers are consistent and inclusive. We also ensure that our colleagues in the Social Care sector are integral to the work we undertake, creating a system-wide workforce offer. Inclusivity, Diversity and Equality lie at the heart of our service and we endeavour to ensure that all members of our community are provided opportunities on an equitable basis.

Today is National Supported Internship Day . Here at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, we support three cohorts of Interns across our sites each year and we are incredibly proud of their achievements and extremely grateful for the support given by Trust colleagues. 🌟 Happy Friday, everyone! 🌟

I wanted to end the week by celebrating two of our brilliant T Level Health students from Lancaster & Morecambe College — Kayla and Precious.

Both showed incredible dedication whilst on placement on the Huggett Suite at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, stepping into every challenge with professionalism, kindness, and with such a genuine passion for supporting others.

The both of them even described their placement as "Fun"! What more could you ask for! 👍

It was lovely this morning to be able to celebrate Emma, who completed her Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship with University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust's Radiography Team at the RLI. Emma is now commencing the 'top-up' to become a qualified Radiographer. She is a 'trailblazer', being the first UHMBT colleague to undertake the Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship in Radiography. Today, the wonderful Cardiac Unit at Westmorland General Hospital were visited by a professional film crew and colleagues from Gatsby to record the fabulous work undertaken by University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust's Clinical Support Workers. The whole team got involved and 'fake' consultations were filmed with ready and willing staff members. Bay Health & Care Careers Team

The Bay Health & Care Careers Team was established in 2016 to inspire people in our local communities to choose the health and social care sector as a career. We represent ‘Bay Health & Care Partners’ which is a collaboration between ten health and care providers in North Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Our aims:


  • Inspire young people to join the NHS to ‘grow our own’ future workforce

  • Fill recruitment gaps
