What fuels internal inflammation?

Internal inflammation rarely comes from one single cause. More often, it builds slowly when the body is under constant load. Chronic stress and nervous system overload keep stress hormones elevated. Poor or disrupted sleep prevents the body from completing its natural repair cycles. Highly processed foods, excess sugar and alcohol can add further strain, while both inactivity and overtraining — without enough recovery — place additional pressure on the system. Add in gut imbalance, immune stress, lingering illness or unresolved injuries, and the body can remain stuck in a low-grade state of alert.

Over time, this drains energy, slows healing and makes it harder for the body to fully switch off.

How to calm inflammation naturally?

Reducing inflammation isn’t about doing more — it’s about supporting the body in the right way.

Calming the nervous system is the foundation. When stress signals remain high, inflammation follows. Supporting cellular recovery is equally important, ensuring cells have the oxygen, nutrients and conditions they need to repair efficiently. Balancing movement with proper recovery helps reduce physical load, rather than adding to it. And finally, protecting sleep and daily rhythm allows the body to do its deepest repair work, where inflammation is actively reduced and resilience is rebuilt.

This is recovery done properly — layered, intentional and sustainable.

Internal inflammation is the body’s quiet stress response — a low-grade state of alert that lingers beneath the surface.

Unlike short-term inflammation, which helps us heal, internal inflammation stays switched on. It’s often driven by chronic stress, nervous system overload, disrupted sleep, poor recovery, or the constant demands of modern life. The body never quite gets the message that it’s safe to stand down.

Because it’s subtle, it’s easy to miss. It shows up as ongoing fatigue, brain fog, broken sleep, low mood, stubborn aches, or that familiar “wired but tired” feeling.

At its core, internal inflammation is a signal — not a failure.
A sign the nervous system needs calming and the body needs support to recover, rebalance and restore itself properly.

Could you have internal Inflammation?

Our amazing partner Dr Sarah Baxter from Aurora Psychology Ltd is on channel 5 talking about men’s mental health and supporting the Radford Family 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

📺 TV Appearance Announcement 📺
I’m pleased to share that I’ll be appearing in an upcoming episode focusing on young men’s mental health, as part of the Channel 5 series '22 Kids and Counting'.

🗓 8th February
⏰ 8:00pm
📍 Channel 5

This episode explores some of the emotional difficulties young men can face, and the importance of understanding, support, and early intervention.

Sadly, only a tiny proportion of young men who are struggling with their mental health seek psychological therapy, yet su***de is the second biggest cause of death amongst male teenagers. This has to change! This is such an overlooked conversation, and I’m so grateful to be part of a programme helping to bring this into the spotlight.

I hope you’ll tune in and join the discussion. Please share, share, share and lets encourage more men to seek help when they're struggling.

How’s Your Nervous System?

Most people don’t realise it, but the nervous system is often the first thing to struggle — long before burnout fully shows up.

Modern life keeps us switched on. Constant notifications. Work pressure. Poor sleep. Emotional load. Over time, the body gets stuck in fight or flight mode. When that happens, recovery slows, energy drops and even small stresses start to feel overwhelming.

A dysregulated nervous system doesn’t always look dramatic. It can show up as fatigue that doesn’t lift, poor sleep, tension in the body, low mood, brain fog, anxiety, or feeling constantly “on edge.” You may still be functioning — but you’re no longer thriving.

True recovery begins when the nervous system feels safe enough to downshift.

At RESET, we focus on giving your body that pause. Not by pushing harder — but by creating the right conditions for calm, balance and repair. Modalities such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, red light therapy, infrared sauna, float therapy and gentle recovery sessions are designed to support parasympathetic activation — the state where healing, restoration and resilience happen.

This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about helping your system reset, regulate and rebuild capacity over time.

If life feels louder than it used to, or rest no longer feels restful, your nervous system may be asking for support.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do… is slow down, so your body can catch up.

Burnout: Why It’s So Common — And How RE:SET Can Help

Burnout has become one of the most common challenges we’re seeing today. It’s no longer limited to high-pressure jobs or busy lifestyles — it’s affecting people who are simply trying to keep up with modern life.

Burnout isn’t a mindset issue. It’s a nervous system issue. When stress is constant and recovery is limited, the body stays in fight-or-flight for too long. Over time, this disrupts sleep, drains energy, increases tension, and impacts mood, focus, and motivation. Many people try to push through, but pushing harder often deepens the problem.

Burnout isn’t solved by doing more.
It’s solved by recovering better.

At RE:SET, we support burnout by focusing on intelligent recovery — helping the body and nervous system switch out of survival mode and back into restoration. Our therapies are designed to calm the nervous system, reduce physical and mental load, support circulation and oxygen delivery, and encourage deeper, more restorative recovery.

When the body feels safe enough to slow down, people often notice better sleep, reduced tension, clearer thinking, improved mood, and a gradual return of energy. Not overnight — but sustainably.

Burnout isn’t weakness.
It’s your body asking for care.

Sometimes the most powerful step forward
is to pause… and let yourself reset.

Re:set Mind Body Soul Wellness Centre

Re:set was born to bring to life the concept of a wellness centre that caters for its clients mental and physical well being. Our first centre is due to open in Lancaster, Lancashire in November 2018.

With state of the art technology we are able to provide our users with Floatation therapy, salt room therapy, Infrared Sauna therapy and Sports, Deep tissue and relaxation massage!

Its our aim to bring the concept of taking time out of our busy lifestyles to look after ourselves both mentally and physically allowing the stresses of every day life to be managed and balanced. For too long the concept of self care and relaxation has been associated with a minority who have seen and felt the benefits.

Its Re:set’s mission to educate and influence its customers in to the importance of managing stresses, both physical and mental, in busy lifestyles to improve quality of life.
