📢 Update on Cervical Screening Invitations & Results

We’d like to let our patients know about an important update to how you receive information about cervical screening.

From the 24th of March, cervical screening invitations and results will be available through the NHS App 📱

This means:
âś… You may receive your screening invitation directly via the app
âś… Your results may also be shared with you securely through the app
âś… You can easily access your information anytime, all in one place

Don’t worry if you don’t have a mobile phone or don’t use the app — you will still receive letters by post as usual. 📬

If you haven’t already, we encourage you to download and set up the NHS App to make sure you don’t miss important updates about your health.

Thank you for your continued support đź’™

Meningococcal (MenB) vaccination – information for students

NHS England has asked GP practices to provide the MenB vaccine to a small number of students linked to the meningococcal outbreak in Canterbury, Kent, if they have returned home.

Whilst we understand this may be a worrying time, it is clear that is it going to be unlikely for many of our local residents to need vaccination under the current criteria that has been set for GP practices nationally.

ONLY if you have been advised that you are eligible and are currently living locally, please contact reception and inform them that your request relates to the MenB vaccination that is linked to the Canterbury outbreak.

If you have been advised that you are eligible, it is likely you will have been contacted by your university, school, or public health officials because you:

- Live in specific halls of residence in Canterbury
- Attended certain venues in Canterbury between 5–16 March, or
- Have been identified as a close contact of a confirmed case

If you have not been contacted directly, you DO NOT need to contact the practice about vaccination.

Meningitis B vaccination is being offered to those at highest risk from the current outbreak
in Kent.

Check to find out if that includes you.

Pollen season has begun! There's no way to avoid pollen altogether, but there's things you can do to lower your risk of developing symptoms if you know you suffer during the warmer weather.

Most people with hay fever can manage their symptoms by taking daily antihistamines. These can help relieve hay fever symptoms and other allergies. .

If you know when your hay fever symptoms usually start, you can take some types of antihistamines two to four weeks before this time. This will give you the best protection. You can take antihistamines throughout the pollen season.
