Meet Jo 👋🏼

I am a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and set up Jo Rycroft Health to educate and empower people to make sustainable changes to their lifestyle and improve their health and well-being.

I devise safe and effective exercise programmes for people with (or at risk of developing) long term conditions, including heart disease, cancer and diabetes.

I’m also a lecturer in Clinical Exercise Physiology at UCLan and teach on the Sports Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine Masters programmes 📈

Outside of clinic, you’ll find me on the Lake District fells with Ned, who’ll be introduced in my next post!

In the light of the current virus situation i am postponing all therapy sessions until further notice.

In the meantime do what you can to keep well. It is important to keep some sense of community especially if you live alone amidst all the fear and chaos, so reach out pick up the phone and call friends or family. Dig out favourite DVD’s - anything which makes you feel good, laughter is the best medicine.

Please reschedule your appointment if you are unwell, have a fever, cough, flu like symptoms or have been abroad in last two weeks. I have vulnerable clients and support those on palliative care.

In the meantime, keep hydrated, have plenty of sleep, get outdoors for some fresh air, and if you’re lucky some sunlight! Vitamin D good for immune system too! Look after your gut health. Not all bacteria are bad, in fact our digestive system needs a good balance healthy bacteria. Probiotics can support digestive system and this in turn supports immune function.
