🎄 Christmas Kindness Phase One: Success! 🎄
Our amazing students from the SC/IC Hub at Beaumont College, Lancaster have completed the first phase of their Christmas Kindness project with flying colours! They showcased their creativity and teamwork by crafting beautiful Christmas tree decorations.
In their community and art sessions at college, students honed their choice-making and directing skills by selecting colours, textures, and items for their creations. Using visual schedules, they mastered the art of making paper chains. They also practised essential preparing-for-adulthood skills by accessing the community to purchase items and visit the venue.
Throughout the project, students have been working on their independence and living skills by following routines and instructions and engaging in social exchanges. They demonstrated employment skills by showing self-awareness and pride in their work, while effectively using their choice and preference skills.
The Christmas Tree Festival was a lovely event that the students thoroughly enjoyed participating in. They loved admiring all the beautifully decorated trees and listening to the cheerful Christmas carols during their visit to Christ Church.
We would like to extend a special thank you to our sponsors, CWR Accountants on Caton Road, Lancaster, for sponsoring a tree for us and giving the students this wonderful opportunity.
A huge thank you to everyone for their support in raising funds for a homeless charity. Plus, an extra cheer for winning first place in the over 18’s category!
Bring on Phase 2 and 3 - exciting times ahead! Stay tuned for more festive updates!
