💗 Baby Loss Awareness Week 9th to 15th October 💗

This week, LMG stand's with all those affected by pregnancy and baby loss. Baby Loss Awareness Week is a time to remember the little lives lost too soon, and to support families navigating grief and healing.

The theme this year is “Together, we care”, a reminder of the importance of looking after our mental and physical well-being, and supporting one another as a community.

National charities like Sands and Tommy’s provide compassion, information and support whilst local support groups are available to speak with others who understand your loss.

Subject: Fire Alarm Incident – Brooksby Medical and Resource Centre

Dear Patients, Colleagues, and Partner Agencies,

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all LMG staff and patients, as well as our valued partners across Brooksby Medical and Resource Centre—including Police Scotland, North Ayrshire Council, NHS Ayrshire & Arran, and North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership—for their cooperation and support during today’s incident.

At approximately 3:30pm, the fire alarm was activated, prompting a full evacuation of all services operating within the Centre. Fortunately, this was a false alarm, triggered by the inappropriate use of aerosol spray in the public toilets.

This marks the second high-risk incident in recent weeks, the first involving smoking within the upstairs waiting area. I would therefore like to take this opportunity to remind all patients and visitors that smoking, va**ng, illicit drug use, abusive behaviour, or any actions that may compromise safety—including those that trigger the fire alarm—may result in removal from LMG’s patient list.

Despite the disruption, I am pleased to report that our fire safety and evacuation procedures were executed effectively. All staff and patients were evacuated promptly, accounted for, and kept safe at the designated meeting point.

I would like to apologise to those patients whose consultations were interrupted or who were unable to wait for their appointment to resume. Re-entry to the building was only permitted once the Fire Marshal had confirmed the premises were secure and safe.

Due to the full evacuation, our phone lines were temporarily unanswered between approximately 3:30pm and 4:30pm. We understand this may have caused inconvenience, and we encourage any patients whose calls went unanswered—or who were unable to attend their appointment—to contact LMG at their earliest convenience so we can reschedule or address your query.

Your health (and safety) remain our highest priority. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support.

Kind regards,

Kirsten, Practice Business Manager.
