How did that feel to stay present with the video for the whole time? Did you manage it? Did you want to swipe after 8 secs?

Most of us are aware now of how distracted we are in this current climate but what a lot people don’t realise is the impact this has on your nervous system which has huge knock on effects to your emotional and mental states.

I grew up in a time pre and post computers & the internet, to me, this feels like one of the highest privileges in my experience so far. I feel lucky that I had a chance to cultivate a space within me and my memory where boredom was an access point to the best creative ideas and experiences. These experiences ultimately helped me to create more connection with the people around me and removed me from a space of stress to a place of rest and play.

As an Art psychotherapist working with children, I receive daily reminders of how important it is for us to be present in the human connection, to not lose sight of what’s most important in this life. The joy and sense of freedom of being present and having a regulated enough nervous system is a gift to yourself and the people around you.

This is the ethos of Divya Prema, it’s why I chose to blend modern therapeutic techniques with movement, breath, meditation, sound and creativity. Rest is a practise we have to work on and I know it doesn’t always come easy.

To mark this turning point, join me around the fire in the cosy candlelight yurt for an evening of deep rest through restorative yoga and meditation. We’ll close our evening together with chai tea, cake, and connective conversations.

What to expect:

One of my favourite ways to connect deeper with myself and the divine is through mantra and chanting. When we use our voice in this way, we’re invoking a vibration, medicine, and energy in motion.

ᴡʜʏ ᴡᴇ ᴄʜᴀɴᴛ:
Mantra works on subtle levels. Each sound carries a specific vibration that resonates through the body, mind, and spirit. When we repeat these sacred sounds, we’re tuning ourselves like an instrument into harmony and balance.

ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪᴛ ᴅᴏᴇꜱ ᴇɴᴇʀɢᴇᴛɪᴄᴀʟʟʏ:
* Activates the parasympathetic nervous system (calming and soothing the body)
* Opens the heart and clears emotional blockages
* Connects us to something bigger, the thread of sound that links us with ancient wisdom and collective consciousness
* Raises our vibration, shifting us out of fear or heaviness into presence and love

And many more.

For me, chanting is a reminder that healing doesn’t always come from doing more, but from surrendering into sound and allowing vibration to do its work.

As the autumn equinox arrives, we gather to honour the turning of the seasons and gently prepare for the darker months ahead.

By the cosy fire, you’ll be guided through restorative yoga, a deeply restful practice where the body is supported with cushions and blankets, allowing muscles to release, the nervous system to unwind, and the mind to find quiet.

This is an evening of deep rest, reflection, and nourishment, a chance to slow down, breathe, and restore your energy as we step into autumn’s embrace.

The Autumn Equinox marks a moment of perfect balance, day and night, light and dark before we begin the gentle descent into the quieter months of the year. It’s a time to pause, reflect, and honour the harmony between what we are ready to harvest and what we are called to release.

Through restorative yoga, meditation, and stillness practices, we’ll soften into this seasonal shift, inviting balance within ourselves and a deeper attunement to the rhythms of nature. You’ll leave feeling grounded, replenished, and nourished.

My next in-person restorative yoga evening is back on this month.

Join me for an evening of embodied rest and reflection beneath the warm late-summer light. We’ll move through pranayama (breath techniques), restorative yoga movement, meditation, and reflection all held gently in community and surrounded by nature.

28th August 6:30–9pm
Lochwinnoch, Scotland.

What to expect:
• Opening ceremony
• Deeply relaxing restorative yoga practice
