Change looks different at every stage of life.
On the left, that was me at around 170kg, competing in strongman and the strongest I’d ever been. On the right is me this year at 135kg.

So why the weight cut?
Simple — I wasn’t competing at the level I used to, and I had no plans to step back on the platform anytime soon. Being that size for my sport made sense. Being that size for the sake of it didn’t. It wasn’t fun, it wasn’t smart, and it definitely wasn’t healthy.

We don’t talk about it enough, but carrying excess weight can take a huge toll on us both physically and mentally. And yes, with the rise of body positivity, it’s easy to put a positive spin on everything — but the truth is this: a healthier body leads to a healthier, happier life. Your health is your wealth.

And here’s the good news:
Making a change doesn’t need to look like a movie montage. You don’t have to go “all or nothing.” Small, consistent lifestyle changes and finding training you actually enjoy — that’s what creates real progress. It’s not about punishing your body; it’s about being accountable and taking control.

Bear Strong & Pretty – Amy 💪💖

Big shout-out to Amy, who started coaching with me a few months ago with clear goals in mind — build strength and sculpt her physique. Since then, she’s absolutely smashed it.

We’ve hit a huge milestone with a 105kg deadlift PB, built serious upper body muscle, and seen amazing quad, hamstring, and glute gains. She's becoming strong and powerful from every angle.

All of this while juggling university life, studying to become a nurse, and hospital placements — no easy task. Balancing training with a demanding schedule and managing stress is tough, so our focus has been on getting results while still making training fun and sustainable.

One of the best parts? Watching Amy’s confidence skyrocket along the way. She's growing in every sense — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

So proud of what she’s achieved so far — and this is just the beginning! 🙌

Client Shout-Out: Francis – First Strongman Show DOMINATED

Massive shout-out to Francis, who has been training with me for the past 3–4 months in preparation for his first ever strongman competition. This was a totally new style of training for him — a steep learning curve and a lot to take on in a short time — but he took it all in stride.

Francis not only adapted, he led the competition from start to finish, making zero mistakes, showing up well-conditioned, incredibly strong, and absolutely blew away both the competition and the event organisers.

What makes this even more impressive is that I didn’t train Francis like I would every other strongman. It was crucial that he still enjoyed the process — that he kept the things he loves about training front and centre. He stayed engaged, excited, and motivated every step of the way. Because at the end of the day, a coach must adapt to the client — not the other way around.

Pumped to keep working together. Huge future ahead for this guy — and we’re just getting started. 💪

Elma has been training with me for the past few years, joining alongside her daughter Kim. From day one, she’s been nothing short of inspirational.

After taking a long break from training, Elma came back with a loss of fitness—but absolutely no loss of spirit. Together, we’ve worked her way back up to an unbelievable level of strength and fitness, proving that age is just a number and determination is everything.

There’s no quit in Elma. She brings a light to every session—always starting with her signature: “Good morning, darling,” and finishing with a few “Thank you, darling, I enjoyed that. See you next week.” That motherly warmth and unshakable drive make it an absolute privilege to coach her.
