Wanting to further increase my services to my clients, I opted to obtain my Practitioner's Diploma in Chair/Seated Acupressure Massage. This in turn led me to obtaining my Level 3, Level 4 Sports Massage & Injury Therapist Certificate along with Bamboo & Hot Stone Massage Therapy Certificate. These therapy treatments have helped me serve anyone with injuries and disabilities, helping with their rehabilitation through properly prepared strength and conditioning programmes and regular massage therapy work. Over the past 10 years my style of training has varied having set myself different challenges from Obstacle Circuit Racing (OCR) to learning how to run and completing the Larne Half Marathon in 2021. I have also competed in Fitness shows as well as training toward various photoshoots. All my training is based around strength training and I like to incorporate weights into everything I do. Functional fitness ie: cardio and weights together is a fun way of training and has helped me rediscover my love for running alongside developing new skills to push myself to my absolute limit. In 2021 I successfully progressed into Strength & Conditioning to become part of Paul McIlroy's Amazing 12 team and a fully certified AMAZING 12 TRANSFORMATION COACH. Over the years I have battled with my own weight-loss issues and now fully understand and appreciate the importance of having a well-balanced nutrition plan as well as a good strength & conditioning programme and a strong healthy mindset.

Running was never my "thing" but I set myself a goal last year to get my fitness back and enjoy exercise again.

Going through Menopause has really kicked me hard these past 24 months. From very painful joints to horrendous brain fog, from daily mood swings to a complete lack of motivation and drive.πŸ™ˆ

So, last year I joined CrossFit and started running.πŸ‹β€β™€οΈ

I am slowly starting to chip away at it, taking each day/week as it comes. I've stopped setting such high expectations on myself and comparing myself to others.

I've learned to leave my PT ego at the door and as a PT that can be hard! My body is going through a change which has had a major impact on my strength and fitness - and that's ok! πŸ’—

I now run at MY pace and I lift at MY strength. I've stopped trying to beat the 20-30-40 year olds. I've stopped caring what others think and have surrounded myself with an amazing network of the most supportive people.

Now I am just doing it for ME - getting fitter and stronger at MY pace.πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Ladies hang in there, it will get easier πŸ™

It's great being back in the main hall again at Larne Leisure Centre and seeing the classes starting to fill up again.

This is one of my favourite classes where we get to breathe away our tensions from the week, stretch our muscles and relax into the weekend.

Happy Friday everyone! πŸ™πŸ˜Š

This is me working on my hand/wrist/forearm. I managed to hurt it this morning in training while doing handstand walk-ins πŸ™ˆ.

It's handy when you have all the tools at home to be able to get on top of the injury before it gets too tight or sore to work on.

While doing the handstand, I felt a very sore "ping" on the base of my thumb into my wrist with the pain radiating up my forearm.

I am working here on releasing the wrist extensors that feel ultra-tight and very tender, the thumb ligaments and around the elbow which also feels uncomfortable.

I am using massage techniques along with scraping therapy, sound shockwave therapy and kinesio-taping for support.

Injuries happen to us all. If you have a new or long-term injury that you'd like me to take a look at, just fire me a message to get booked in or jump over to my website (link in my bio).

My Story

After several years of training & being inspired by my instructors, I decided to complete my training and become a Personal Trainer in May 2013. I initially elected to specialise in Spin, GP Exercise Referral, Combat Strike and Core-work taking various classes as well as 1:1 clients. Then I progressed onto Strength & Conditioning programming but now my favourite training is HIIT obstacle training, OCR (Outdoor Circuit Racing). It is incorporating cardio and weights together in a fun way. It has helped me rediscover my love for running along-side developing new skills to push myself to my absolute limit.

I competed in my first Spartan Race in Dublin in May 2019 and I am now aiming for Larne 10 km in September along with my next Spartan Race in October over in Windsor.

In the past I have battled with my own weight loss issues and now fully understand and appreciate the importance of having a well balanced nutrition plan as well as good strength/conditioning programme. Nutrition is something I am very passionate about, simply - you eat CRAP you feel like CRAP - by changing what you eat, you will change how you feel but YOU have to take charge and be accountable to yourself about your weight gain/loss. Wanting to further increase my services to my clients, I opted to obtained my Practitioners Diploma in Chair/Seated Acupressure Massage. This in turn led me to obtaining my Level 3 & Level 4 Sports Massage Certificate. This enables me to help treat anyone with injuries and help with their rehabilitation through a properly prepared strength and conditioning programme and regular massage therapy work. I am truly blessed to have the life I live. Watching people grow and being part of their fitness journey. I want to inspire people, I want someone to look at me and say: β€œbecause of you I didn't give up!”

Favourite quote:- β€œIf you can see it in your mind you can hold it in your hands” Never stop dreaming as the imagination is one our most powerful attributes.
