Running was never my "thing" but I set myself a goal last year to get my fitness back and enjoy exercise again.
Going through Menopause has really kicked me hard these past 24 months. From very painful joints to horrendous brain fog, from daily mood swings to a complete lack of motivation and drive.π
So, last year I joined CrossFit and started running.πββοΈ
I am slowly starting to chip away at it, taking each day/week as it comes. I've stopped setting such high expectations on myself and comparing myself to others.
I've learned to leave my PT ego at the door and as a PT that can be hard! My body is going through a change which has had a major impact on my strength and fitness - and that's ok! π
I now run at MY pace and I lift at MY strength. I've stopped trying to beat the 20-30-40 year olds. I've stopped caring what others think and have surrounded myself with an amazing network of the most supportive people.
Now I am just doing it for ME - getting fitter and stronger at MY pace.πββοΈ
Ladies hang in there, it will get easier π
