Microsuction Ear Wax Removal Based at SW Podiatry and Health at Homeleigh Garden Centre, Launceston

Rachel qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2008, since then she has worked as a District Nurse, Emergency Department Nurse and more recently as an MIU Nurse Practitioner. She is very experienced with a numerous range of ear problems, from assessing and treating infections to syringing and removal of foreign bodies. Rachel has completed an accredited Aural Microsuction Training Course recommended by the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists and is fully insured.

We got suited and booted for the Remembrance Sunday parade, a moment that always means so much to our family. With my husband serving in the military, Remembrance Day holds a special place in our hearts.

Today on remembrance day, it’s a time to pause, reflect, and honour those who have served and continue to serve. Whilst also remembering the families who stand beside them too. 🌺

While we all love the fireworks, sparklers and toffee apples, it’s worth remembering that those loud bangs can reach over 150 decibels. That’s loud enough to damage your hearing.

If you’re heading to a display next week, protect your ears by:
🎧 Wearing earplugs or noise-reducing headphones (especially for children)
🔥 Standing back from the loudest bursts
🎇 Taking breaks away from the noise

Feast your eyes (if you dare!) on this inch-long superstar of stubborn wax! 😳 Definitely not one for the squeamish — but oh, the satisfaction when it came out!

The patient’s hearing improved instantly, and that full, blocked feeling disappeared straight away. That’s the magic of safe, professional ear care. 💜

Remember — never try to remove wax yourself with cotton buds or home gadgets. If your ears are feeling blocked, come and see me instead!
