Workful provides evidence-based MHFA England's Mental Health training courses. Our MHFA 2-day course is our most popular training and is designed for everyone. Through this course we take people on a journey to understand what mental health is. We discuss how we all have mental health, like physical health, and we teach people to look after their own and others' wellbeing. Description of the 2-day course
Encourage people to challenge the language we use around mental health
Explore our different frames of reference and the stigma attached to mental health
Help people to understand what good mental health looks like
Explore the factors that can have an impact on our mental health
Look at how to support yourself and others with self-care, giving the skills to influence your own mental health and help prevent mental ill health
Teach how to intervene (including in a crisis), reassure and signpost to further support
Teach about diagnosable mental health conditions, what unwell looks like an

I have taken the decision that for the moment, due to uncertainty around the situation with COVID-19, I won't be running open MHFA courses.

I am still available for private bookings within workplaces, either in-person (if appropriate safety measures can be taken) or online.

I am looking into resuming face-to-face MHFA courses in the next couple of months.

This will involve a thorough risk assessment and modifications where necessary to ensure we are meeting COVID-19 guidance and keeping everyone as safe as we possibly can in these difficult times.

Sadly, in some cases, this will require a change of venue, where our lovely original venues won’t allow space for people to be adequately distanced from one another.

I hope to announce dates and venues for the Stratford area, Leamington and Moseley in the next week or so.

I hope everybody is keeping well at this difficult time.

I have some good news for those who have been waiting to become a Mental Health First Aider: MHFA instructors have today been given access to the online learning portal for the newly created online Mental Health First Aid course.

I need to complete my own CPD in order to be able to deliver this, so I anticipate being able to run a course in the last week of June/ first week of July.

I will know more about the logistics of the course after I have had some time to go through the materials this weekend and I’ll keep you updated with a post early next week.

Enough of the 'shoulds'! This is a difficult enough time as it is, without heaping all these expectations, goals and demands on top of ourselves too. It's okay if you aren't doing a virtual workout class every day, or if you're struggling with your motivation, or learning a new language, or painting - or whatever else it is that other people say that they're doing. It's okay to just be - to focus on getting through this, however you can.

'I should do a workout video. Everyone else is...'
'I should log on to work'
'I shouldn't be snacking so much'
I should be more productive now'
I should stretch'
'What's going to happen to local business?'
