New year = new opening hours!

For those of you who don’t know, I will be focusing on my beautiful little business full-time from January. Thank you to everyone who has booked an appointment and supported me over the last couple of years and made this a possibility! ☺️

It also means that I will have more opportunities for appointments (no more waiting weeks and months to book in 🙌🏻), coffee mornings ❤️, community support groups 🫶🏻 and perhaps less exciting, admin!

So from mid-January I will also be open on a Tuesday and Wednesday for appointments. And reducing my Saturdays to two a month (but slightly longer hours on each).

I am so excited for this next chapter of Sarah Allen-Reading Massage + Therapies and what 2026 brings!

👉 If you’ve been planning to start the new year by booking an appointment with me, you can book via the website or email: info@sarahallenreadingmassage.com (links in bio). Or send me a DM 😊

A lovely review from a recent client 🖤

Pregnancy massage is for women in their 2nd or 3rd trimester (after 12 weeks), but is also suitable for breastfeeding mothers following their 6-week postnatal check. We will discuss the treatment beforehand and the options available to you, so that you can relax fully during your hour treatment.

A massage during pregnancy provides so much to both mother and baby. It is a gentle, but deeply relaxing massage that can help alleviate common discomforts during pregnancy and provides a natural and safe alternative for pain relief. By its positive and relaxing effect on the nervous starts, it can also help to improve sleep quality and reduce anxiety and stress.

It’s 8 years today, since my caesarean birth, where I was left with an infected incision and sent home 24hours later with no pain relief to look after myself and a newborn baby.

My story is not unique. It’s not even ‘bad’ compared to some of the stories of ‘care’ I’ve heard over the last few years. But it is these events that made me realise that the care I received postpartum was not good enough. It was not thorough. It was not done with continuity. And it was not even comparable to the care I received following my first vaginal birth.

But it is this story that led me to where I am today - supporting women who have experienced a caesarean birth to optimise their scar healing - so I am also very grateful for it.

👉 If you’ve had a caesarean birth and are experiencing a numb, painful, restrictive and/or tight scar or you just don’t know where to begin with scar massage, book your treatment via the website or get in touch by DM or email (link in bio).

📞 I offer free 5 minute phone consultations if you’d like to discuss options 🫶🏻

CLIENT PROGRESS ⬇️

This client came to me at 8 weeks postpartum after having an emergency caesarean birth. She wanted to ensure optimal healing and reduce the overhang.

The scar was hard, stuck and tight especially on the right side, which was causing the skin to form an overhang over the top of the scar. It was also slightly red and raised (hypertrophic) in parts.

Using a mixture of hands on scar techniques and the , plus homecare that included massage, stretches, silicone and hydration, we managed to mobilise the scar area to regain mobility and smooth out the scar, which in turn also reduced the overhang and visibility of the scar. And perhaps most importantly my client felt confident in her body and scar 🫶🏻

Thanks, as always, to my client for allowing me to share her progress 🖤

I’ll let you into a little secret about me - I love nothing more than a training course or development opportunity! I’m the first to book on and the most eager there 🤓 And with every training course, conference or opportunity I get, I can then pass on my learnings to my clients and those I support at coffee mornings. It’s a win win 🙌🏻

I booked onto the Scar Symposium way back in June and the date is nearly here. It’s the first event of its kind in the UK. I am really looking forward to sharing all the evidence based learning I take home from the day with you ❤️

(As well as receiving the goody bag. Who doesn’t love a goody bag?!)

C-SECTION MAMA’S WE’RE BACK!
AND IN A NEW AND EXCITING LOCATION!

✨November date now live!✨

We’ve absolutely loved meeting and supporting C-section mamas (or mum’s to be) at our previous coffee clubs held at Sanctuary Eleven and now we’re moving to and the beautiful new Parent Space in the back of their gorgeous cafe on Regent Street.

Postpartum care can be patchy at the best of times. But aftercare specifically for C-section mamas? Practically non-existent.

We believe it’s essential to hold space for you -
whether your C-section was planned, unplanned, or an emergency, every journey is different - and yours matters.

Whether your recovery has been smooth or deeply challenging, you deserve care. You deserve community.

What to expect:

👩‍⚕️Sarah Allen-Reading - expert C-section scar therapist - will be sharing her knowledge on scar care and recovery. BEFORE AND AFTER CLIENT PROGRESS

This client came to me after having two c-sections (through same incision site). She had experienced a hypertrophic scar following her first caesarean (removed during her second caesarean) and wanted to avoid this happening to her new scar. She was also experiencing pulling into her right hip from the scar, loss of sensation, and the scar was tight and ‘stuck’.

What you can’t see from these photos was the softness we got into the scar from hands on scar techniques, massage and using the Lymphatouch, plus homecare that included massage, stretches, silicone and hydration.

She also saw a huge improvement in bringing back sensitivity to the area, reducing redness, and a reduction in the small ‘shelf’ above the scar especially on the right side where the client was feeling the most tightness. The scar also remained flat and did not become hypertrophic (red and raised).

With the right mix of in-person scar therapy sessions and guided at home care, you can transform not only how your scar looks and feels, but how you feel in your body🫶🏻

Thanks to my client for allowing me to share her progress 🖤
