One of my favourite parts of being a clinical psychologist is seeing clients develop coping strategies, experience less anxiety and start to enjoy their lives again.

I thought I would share what one of my clients said last week when we ended our time together.

If you would like to work with me, please do contact me at dr.sarah@berger.me.uk. I would love to support you to achieve your goals and start enjoying your life again without anxiety, low mood or trauma holding you back.

AWARE THAT YOUR THOUGHTS ARE IRRATIONAL BUT STILL EXPERIENCING ANXIETY SYMPTOMS?????🥺

You are not alone!

I have supported a lot of clients who feel this way. It is not anything you are doing wrong.

Sometimes our nervous system needs some support to turn the anxiety dial down....this is when EMDR can help.

Please read this blog if this resonates with how you are feeling 👇

ANIXETY

I know anxiety can really have an negative impact on your life, and take the joy out of things you used to love.

How do I know???

I have been there myself and have woke up in the morning experiencing a wave of anxiety running through my body and knowing that the day is going to feel like something I need to get
through, rather than experience and enjoy.

I know how disconnected from loved one it can make you feel when you feel you are always in threat mode and playing unhelpful thoughts on a loop in your head.

The good news.......

It can get better, I know because I have had my own therapy journey, as well as supporting hundreds of people to break free from anxiety symptoms.

You are not alone in feeling this way, it just shows you care deeply about the things that bring anxiety and need to understand why your nervous system is doing this and strategies to help soothe your system. Things that can help you:

· Practice relaxation: Learn and practice calming breathing
exercises, mindfulness, or activities like yoga to promote a sense of calm.
· Talk about your feelings:
Share your concerns with a trusted friend, family member, or a mental health professional.
· Face your fears gradually:
Instead of avoiding situations that make you anxious, try to slowly build up your exposure to them to build your confidence.
· Focus on what you can control:
Direct your energy toward actions you can take to feel better, rather than dwelling on things you cannot change.

Please don't suffer alone and talk to others about how you are feeling, it really will help.

There are people just like you who have learnt to feel so much better. If you would like to read some comments others have made after breaking free from anxiety, please do read them here https://www.berger.me.uk/testimonials

Wishing you a good week ahead.

BUILDING CONFIDENCE FROM THE INSIDE OUT 💪💪💪

Do you struggle with low self-esteem or lack confidence?

You're not alone.

Many people face these challenges due to early relationships and experiences.

Relational psychotherapy can help you understand and work through these issues, leading to greater self-awareness, confidence, and a more fulfilling life.

For example; Imagine you're someone who constantly doubts your abilities and feels like you're not good enough.

Perhaps your parents were critical at times or perfectionistic in certain areas.

This could have made you feel like you were never enough, leading to a fear of failure and a tendency to please others at your own expense.

Sound familiar maybe????

In relational psychotherapy, your therapist will help you explore these early experiences and how they've shaped your sense of self. Together, you will create a safe and supportive space to share your thoughts and feelings.

Through this process, you can learn to:

• Recognise and challenge negative self-talk.
• Develop a greater sense of self-awareness and self-
acceptance.
• Build deeper and more meaningful relationships with others
including your partner, children and friends.
• Cultivate a growth mindset, embracing challenges and l
learning from failures.

Relational psychotherapy is not about "fixing" you or telling you to "just be more confident." It's about helping you understand and work through the underlying issues that hold you back and developing a more compassionate and supportive relationship with yourself. By doing this, you'll build your confidence from the inside out.

I have a wonderful relational psychotherapist working with me who could support you with things you may be struggling with on a day to day basis.

If you would like to know more, please call me on 07498 519586 or DM me and we can have a chat and I can explain more about what this might look like.

Feedback from clients is always so important to me. I use it all the time to improve what I offer and also know what is going well.

This feedback from one of the lovely ladies that attended the Women's Empowerment Workshop really did make my heart sing.

This is exactly why Cleo and I set up this workshop and we are both so grateful for the openness and honesty of the ladies who attended the group. We had so much fun too! Can't wait to run the next one now!!!
