At Crossroads Care Surrey, we believe care is as much about connection as it is about support 💛

Companionship care offers older people regular, friendly visits - time to talk, laugh, share stories or enjoy familiar activities together. These moments can ease loneliness, lift confidence and support emotional wellbeing.
For families and unpaid carers, companionship care also brings peace of mind, knowing their loved one isn’t alone and has someone they trust by their side.
Small moments of connection can make a big difference. That’s why compassionate, person-centred care will always be at the heart of what we do.

Carers & DEI: The Missing Piece in Your Inclusion Strategy

If your organisation is serious about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), carers can’t be an afterthought.

📊 New State of Caring data shows:
• 61% of working carers say caring has changed their employment
• 74% worry about their financial future
• 82% of carers are women
• Younger carers report significantly worse mental health

Yet many DEI strategies still focus on parents, overlooking those caring for disabled or elderly relatives.

This blind spot:
➡️ Limits women’s career progression
➡️ Blocks access to leadership roles
➡️ Impacts long-term financial security
➡️ Drives isolation and burnout

Leading organisations are responding by embedding caring into EDI frameworks, training managers, and measuring carer outcomes.

The question for HR and DEI leaders:
Can your inclusion strategy truly be inclusive if it ignores 1 in 7 workers?

At Crossroads Care Surrey, we help employers build genuinely carer-inclusive workplaces where carers don’t just cope, they thrive.

This winter is already incredibly tough for the NHS and at the same time, unpaid carers in Surrey are facing cuts to respite support that many rely on just to keep going.

Respite care gives carers time to rest, look after their own health, or simply catch their breath. Without it, exhaustion and burnout become very real and that often leads to more pressure on already stretched NHS services.

Unpaid carers do so much, often without being seen. They deserve support, not cuts. 💙

Read our latest press release at how unpaid carers are at breaking point as the NHS declares critical incidents in Surrey.

To every carer in Surrey feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or invisible: We're here to help you 💚

The State of Caring 2025 report reveals what we already know - that caring comes at an enormous personal cost. But it also shows something else: carers need and deserve so much more support.

At Crossroads Care Surrey, we're here to make sure you get that support:

🤝 Professional respite care when you need a break
💬 Someone to talk to who truly understands
📋 Help navigating the benefits system
❤️ Recognition that YOU matter too

One carer told researchers: ""I want to see a future for carers where we are something more than our caring role. Where we can flourish outside of our caring role so that we can ultimately care better.""

That's the future we're fighting for and we're here to support you every step of the way.
You're doing an incredible job. Now let us support you in doing it.

📞 Call us, visit our website, or drop us a message. Taking the first step to ask for help is the bravest thing you can do.
