The right procedure is often not the one you first ask about.

Cheeks don’t just lose volume.
They lose position.

A midface lift addresses structural change, not skin quality, not ageing itself, and not every concern under the eyes.

If you’re thinking about midface surgery, this carousel covers the questions that matter before you commit.

Apparently even surgeons can be action figures 🤷‍♀️

Hi, I’m Will Holmes, a Consultant Plastic Surgeon.

I work full time in the NHS with extensive experience in complex breast reconstruction, specialising in microsurgical DIEP breast reconstruction.

Alongside my NHS work, I run a busy private practice covering all aspects of aesthetic plastic surgery, with particular specialist interests in complex breast surgery and facial plastic surgery. The locations: Spire Methley Park Hospital, South Leeds & Coppergate Clinic, York.

I qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2006 and completed my general surgical training in Glasgow and Liverpool. I then undertook a junior plastic surgery fellowship at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa, before completing my formal plastic surgery training in Yorkshire.

This was followed by a nationally awarded TIG fellowship in skin oncology at the Norfolk and Norwich Teaching Hospital, two microsurgical breast reconstruction fellowships in Bristol and Chelmsford, and the BAPRAS/BAAPS fellowship in aesthetic surgery in Hull.

Being fully informed matters just as much as the final result.

From detailed consultations to ongoing aftercare, this patient felt supported, prepared and safe throughout their neck and facelift journey.

Great outcomes are never a solo effort, attentive nursing care, clear communication and a team that genuinely looks after you make all the difference.

Skin lesions are often harmless, but context matters.

In my private practice, I treat benign skin lesions, supported by fellowship training in skin oncology. That experience helps ensure lesions are managed appropriately, and anything concerning is directed down the right route.

Thoughtful assessment first. Treatment only when it’s right.

Many skin lesions are completely benign — but deciding what to do with them shouldn’t be casual.

In private practice, I treat a wide range of benign skin lesions, drawing on my background as a consultant plastic surgeon and microsurgeon, with fellowship training in skin oncology. That training means knowing when something is simply a nuisance — and when it needs a different pathway altogether.

Careful judgement. Appropriate treatment. No shortcuts.

Face and neck lift procedures in the UK increased by 8% in 2024, according to new audit data from

BAAPS President attributes this to a combination of injectable fatigue, facial volume loss following GLP-1 weight-loss medications, and increased awareness of facial ageing through video conferencing.

The release highlights:
• A younger demographic seeking subtle surgical rejuvenation
• Increased use of deep-plane and short-scar techniques
• Advances in regenerative facial surgery
• The growing role of local-anaesthetic (“wide-awake”) facelift procedures, presented by UK surgeon

Insights from and at the 2025 BAAPS conference underline how facial rejuvenation continues to evolve toward preservation, regeneration, and longevity.

Always tired… even when you’re not?

Lower blepharoplasty isn’t about changing how you look, it’s about restoring what fatigue has quietly taken away. By refining the lower eyelid contour, this procedure can relieve the heavy, weighed-down appearance, soften shadowing often labelled as “dark circles,” and bring back a rested, natural look.

A subtle adjustment, but one that can make the eyes feel lighter, brighter, and more in balance, particularly for women and men juggling busy lives (yes, parents especially).

Small changes. Meaningful impact.

Deep plane short scar facelift and laser resurfacing

This was a technically demanding case involving significant lower-face ageing, skin laxity and deep marionette lines, with asymmetry through the nasal folds and jawline.

By combining laser resurfacing with our Coppergate team first, followed by a deep-plane short-scar facelift, we were able to enhance facial harmony without creating an artificial or over-pulled look.

The goal was never transformation, but balance, softness and proportion.
A subtle refresh that still feels authentic to the patient.

She’s delighted with her result and happy to share it.

A reminder that great facelift outcomes don’t stop in theatre
✔️ Skin quality
✔️ Bespoke skincare
✔️ Thoughtful non-surgical support
are essential to achieving the best possible surgical result.
