As the year draws to a close, it’s common to think of the people who are special to us – especially those we've lost. That’s why we’ve chosen to take part in Light a Candle.

From 15 to 21 December we’ll be posting digital candles in memory of those who can’t be with us during the festive season. If you’d like to create a virtual candle, please click the following link where you can choose a design and write a short message to a loved one.

There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.

We’re pleased to announce the return of Light a Candle this Christmas!

Taking part in this Christmas’s Light a Candle gives you the opportunity to create online memorials throughout the festive period.

Christmas is a special time to celebrate with family and friends, and our virtual candles are a thoughtful way to pay tribute to loved ones who are no longer with us.

We'll be sharing virtual candles on our page between 15 and 21 December. There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.

🎄🎄Our Memorial Christmas Tree Is Back 🎄🎄
You may have seen that our memorial tree has now returned to our garden to remember those who won’t be with us this Christmas. If you would like the name of a loved one adding to the tree or a bauble/star rehanging from a previous year please get in touch with: (very important to include all the following)
- the persons name
- if its a new bauble or we have from previous years
- if you would like us to place the bauble on the tree or if you would like to collect it to hang it on yourselves
We do not charge for the memorial baubles but, any donations made will go to Belle Isle Senior Action to help them continue the amazing work they do within the community.
NB - we will respond to all messages during office working hours starting from Tuesday 2nd December. Please bear with us when waiting for as a response as we are extremely busy and check messages at one point each day and Wednesday 17th will be the last day we can take requests for new baubles.
Requests will be taken from this post, to save confusion please do not comment on any shares of this original post as they won’t be seen.

Sadly passed away peacefully in St Gemma's Hospice with all her loving family with her on 26th September 2025 aged 65 years. Beloved daughter to the late John and Hilda and sister of the late Lorraine, loved sister to Susan and John and sister in law to Steve. Also a dear friend to Pat, devoted auntie to Joanne, Karen, Gavin, Lisa and Katherine and loved by her many great nieces and nephews. Forever in our Hearts Funeral service and cremation at Cottingley Hall Crematorium on Tuesday 21st October at 1:00pm. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be given for Make a Wish.
