A common area of pain we often see in clinic is the Neck.

Often people want a clear diagnosis or root cause identified and explained.

Causes can vary hugely from fairly small strains, overloading muscles in training or just prolonged static postures or lack of movement.

They could also be signs of more rare serious pathologies such as myopathies or radiculopathy.

Through completing thorough assessments and gaining an understanding of what and how your pain is affecting you...

We can rule out any potential serious pathologies to be concerned about.

Fortunately, clinical evidence shows for 'most cases' of neck pain, the root cause or diagnosis is not serious and does not matter all that much.

We then create an agreed management plan!!

Our focus is then getting you moving, pain-free and back to doing what you love!

When it comes to knee conditions, One of the concerns we hear alot is noise(s) in knees!

Often this is mentioned before we get to the pain or difficulties with function!

Many people believe this is a sign of the joint wearing away.

Crepitus (the sound in the knee) is actually a very common presentation in nonpainful knees.

Infact, it may just be a sign of a normal healthy knee! Some people even feel better after the knee has cracked!

More often, this occurs as a result of gas bubbles within synovial fluid (natural joint fluid) or the knee cap moving in its groove as muscles warm up!

In some incidents it can be present in advanced osteoarthritis, but this is highly unlikely to be seen in runners and many active individuals.

In incidents when crepitus within a knee is present alongside pain, swelling or recent traumatic injury, this MAY be of concern, But NOT ALWAYS.

So remember, even though crepitus is not something to worry about in most cases, If you are concerned.... Drop us a DM!

Finding confidence and motivation isn’t all about overcoming obstacles and learning your own strength. I think it’s also about feeling the rewards of your hard work and enjoying the beautiful things in life.

For me, all I have to do is think about improving people’s life through physical therapy and that’s all the motivation I need.

What about you?

Raise your hand if you’ve ever quit something before. 🙋‍♀️

As much as we’re told not to quit things, I think most of us have experience dropping out of something early—whether it’s a sport as a kid, a subject in college that wasn’t what you hoped or physiotherapy sessions.

And, let me tell you, when it comes to physiotherapy it’s often a long road that needs patience and perseverance. But the results can be life changing!

Tell me: What have you quit and what did you learn from it?
