If you imagine our hearing is similar to seeing. We hear a range of 'colours', so to speak.
As we get older, most people start to lose the ability to hear some colours of sound. This loss of hearing specific frequencies of sounds, means people can still hear, but there is a lack of clarity, a feeling that people are mumbling or not speaking clearly.
A detailed hearing test will tell an audiologist which specific frequencies are not being heard well. This information then allows the audiologist to set up or 'program' hearing devices specifically to address a person's hearing profile.
For many people, this results in hearing much more clearly, not necessarily louder but brighter, crisper, sharper.
At The Hearing Space, Paul Shaw, our Consultant Audiologist, has years of experience as a Clinician, Lecturer and Researcher in Audiology.
Providing expert, trusted advice you can be assured of only the highest level of hearing care.
