Walking the Dog Is Not Enough!
Walking the dog is a great start — fresh air, a bit of movement, and some much-needed companionship. But let’s be honest… our bodies deserve more than a stroll around the block.
As we age, staying active isn’t just nice — it’s essential. Regular exercise keeps your heart strong, your joints flexible, your mind sharp, and your spirits high.
The good news? You don’t need a gym membership or fancy equipment.
Here are a few simple ideas to boost your activity level:
Try light strength training with cans or water bottles
Stretch each morning to stay limber
Join a walking group or dance class
Explore yoga or tai chi for balance and calm
Even gardening or dancing in the kitchen counts!
It’s never too late to start moving more — and your body will thank you. Let’s aim for 30 minutes a day, in whatever way brings you joy.
Let’s not settle for “just walking the dog.”
Let’s thrive, not just survive.
