Ever woken up with a stiff back and thought, “Hang on, where did that come from?” It’s a story we hear all the time in the clinic. Just last week, we saw someone who was sure their back pain had appeared overnight. But after a quick chat, it turned out there’d been little niggles and stiff mornings for months, maybe even years, all thanks to long days at the desk, uncomfortable chairs, and a bit too much slouching on the sofa.
Back pain is a bit like driving your car with wonky tyres. Everything feels fine at first, even if the steering’s a touch off. But keep driving, and eventually, it’ll catch up with you, often when you least expect it.
When did you last check your own ‘alignment’? Are your shoulders relaxed, feet planted on the ground, and hips level? Go on, have a quick wriggle and see how you’re sitting now.
A small change to your posture today could make a big difference down the road.
