The moon hangs distant and full.
A red bird cuts through the dark.
Its wings catch the light briefly.

Missing you asks daily effort.
It lives in routines I repeat.
Coffee cooling too long.
A chair left unused.

Harder is the knowing.
That some moments won’t repeat.
No second chances for ordinary days.
No revisions to the past.

I feel the weight of that truth.
It doesn’t crush me.
It presses, steady and firm.
Teaching me where love still sits.

The bird doesn’t turn back.
Neither does time.
