A common concern when considering training is whether you’ll feel confident working with real clients.

At CPHT Leeds, practical experience starts early. After the first teaching weekend, students begin practising with real people, initially friends and family, before gradually working with clients outside their personal network as confidence builds.

Every course weekend combines structured teaching with practical exercises, allowing lecturers to observe, guide and support students as they develop their skills. Ongoing supervision is provided throughout the course, with lecturers available both during training weekends and between modules to offer advice and reassurance.

The aim is simple: learn by doing, with the right level of support at every stage.

Since 2015, CPHT Leeds has been part of a nationwide network of accredited training schools, helping people build rewarding careers in hypnotherapy.

Led by senior lectures Lynda and Naomi, our course runs over 10 weekends across 10 months and leads to 2 recognised qualifications.

You’ll begin applying to your skills early, gaining real practical experience alongside learning hypnosis, neuroscience and the business skills needed to start your own practice.

CPHT training is designed to build real-world practitioner skills, not just theoretical knowledge.

Every month includes practical, face-to-face training where lecturers observe your work and give supportive feedback to help you improve. You’ll begin seeing volunteer clients from your first weekend and keep short reflection logs after each session to build awareness and confidence.

Students also take part in monthly group supervision to discuss challenges and successes, helping keep both you and your volunteer clients safe and supported.

Assessment includes case histories, a consultation presentation, and a portfolio, with guidance throughout and flexible submission options for students with additional needs, including audio or video formats.

What happens if you miss a module during hypnotherapy training?

All CPHT schools follow the same course content and module progression. If exceptional circumstances mean you can’t attend a module at your usual school, you can attend that same module at another CPHT school instead.

There’s no additional teaching cost for this, students just cover their own travel or accommodation where required.

Training is normally delivered face to face in the classroom. In limited circumstances, online access may be possible, depending on lecturer approval.

It’s a structured course, with built-in flexibility where it matters.

Hypnotherapy training fees can vary widely, from very low-cost short courses to comprehensive diploma programmes.

When comparing options, it’s important to look beyond price alone and consider what the training includes: recognised qualifications, practical experience, assessment standards and preparation for professional practice.

The CPHT diploma includes both the DSFH and HPD qualifications, with structured training, assessment and external verification, designed to support students through to being ready to work professionally.
