We’re all looking forward to some warmer days, but for now, we’re more than happy watching the spring flowers start to bloom from the comfort of the conservatory 🪴

There’s something so peaceful about watching the garden bloom while staying warm inside with a cuppa ☕️

We're often asked how we make our care homes feel so much like home, and the reason is without a doubt down to Graeme our founder and Chairman.

"My mum and dad had a small care home in east Leeds, where I grew up. Every time we welcomed a new resident, I would move bedrooms. Those are the abiding memories I have of my childhood. I thought it was normal to watch TV in the evenings with seven old ladies.

I grew up with a real empathy for older people. When I was a teenager, I worked in the family care home to let mum have a lie in on Saturdays. That was fantastic because I chatted to the residents, asked what they wanted and made their breakfast.

I realised from a young age how amazing older people are. Often, the people who don't brag about their lives and keep themselves to themselves have incredible stories to tell. But you wouldn't know unless you asked. I also saw how vulnerable they were."

This ethos and mentality trickles down throughout our teams, from the care teams to those designing and creating new homes.

We had a wonderful afternoon hosting a special Elvis tribute for our residents on Valentines Day. Our halls were decked out in red and pink, and it was so moving to see everyone dressed up and singing along to their favourite classics.

Music has a magical way of bringing back beautiful memories. Thank you to everyone who made this day so special.

Today is National Love Your Pet day! For many people a beloved pet isn't just an animal, they're family.

Live-in care makes it possible for people with care needs to remain at home surrounded by the things they love and the companions they love the most, their pets!

One of our customers shares their home with a 16 year old sausage dog who has been by her side through thick and thin. Our carers not only support her with her daily tasks but also help her continuing caring for her faithful friend. They assist with walks, feeding and (of course) cuddles.

Another customer, living with Dementia, dotes on her cat. Spending time with him brings her calm, purpose and routine. His presence helps reduce anxiety and supports her mental wellbeing.

On Love Your Pet Day, we're reminded that care isn't just about practical support but preserving every relationship that matter to individuals we care for.

Picking a care path is one of the biggest decisions a family can make, but it doesn’t have to mean packing up and moving on.

While residential homes offer a great community, live-In care offers something a bit different - the ability to stay exactly where you are.

At Springfield, we believe care should fit around your life, not the other way around. No matter which path you choose, we’re here to make it work for you.

Did you know that Harrogate’s very first streetlights were powered by the man who lived at Grove House? 💡

Back in the 19th century, Grove House was the home of Samson Fox, a Victorian engineer so brilliant he was known for solving the seemingly impossible. Not only did he revolutionise steam power globally, but he used his success to elevate the town he loved, funding everything from local arts to education.

We are proud to be breathing new life into his historic estate, ensuring that the spirit of excellence Fox started in the 19th century continues for our residents today!

There’s a reason people say there’s no place like home.

It’s where decades of Sunday roasts happened, where the dog comes to greet you, where the kids grew up and where your favourite chair is.

So at Springfield, our mission is simple - to keep you where your memories are.

Whether it’s help with the morning routine or more complex medical support, we bring the care to your front door so you never have to leave the place that makes you you.

Investing in the next generation of healthcare providers is so important to us.

We recently welcomed a cohort from Notre Dame 6th Form College to participate in clinical training in Leeds.

Covering both Basic Life Support and Moving & Handling, the students demonstrated great commitment to their professional development.

We can't wait to see their progress within the industry!
