A 68-year-old woman sought treatment at the clinic after months of intense knee pain. Nothing helped-medication, physical therapy, rest... the pain only worsened.
During the consultation, she revealed an important detail: years earlier, she had undergone deep acupuncture sessions performed by a professional who used gold needles.
According to him, this technique would leave "prolonged stimulation" in the area and bring lasting benefits.
But years later, the pain had become unbearable.
Given the situation, an X-ray was ordered.
And what appeared surprised the team:
🔎 Hundreds of tiny metallic fragments were scattered around the joint.
These were remnants of the needles inserted by the professional, which had broken and remained lodged inside the knee.
These fragments can cause chronic inflammation, tissue irritation, and progressive worsening of pain-exactly what the patient was experiencing.
___
➡️ Conclusion: it wasn't just "wear and tear on the knee."
The pain was maintained by foreign bodies left behind years earlier during a botched procedure.
📌 Lesson: Invasive techniques require qualified professionals.
What seems harmless can leave invisible aftereffects... until the pain appears.
