Hi all,

Sharing this on behalf of LUMPS (Leeds University Medical Paediatric Society).

To whom this may concern,

We are contacting you as the founding committee of the National Paediatric Society Fundraising Week. The NPSFW is formed from 28 medical schools across the UK, including Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales. This is the first ever NPSFW!

The COVID-19 pandemic has left many charities struggling for donations. This week hopes to uplift communities whilst raising money for charity on a local and national scale.

The week commencing the 12th October 2020, we are inviting members of hospital staff, patients (if fit and healthy!), relatives, everyone and anyone to participate in our national initiative. As a collective, we hope to unite people to travel 16 million metres; representing the number of children within the UK. This could be through running, walking, skipping, swimming - anything, as long as it can be measured!

We have attached our information pack which outlines this initiative which will run over the week. We would appreciate it if you would be able to share this information with colleagues/ friends etc so we can get as many people involved as possible! For example if people usually cycle to work, go for an evening run or just track their steps around the hospital, get them involved!

We are really excited for this week.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!

Kind regards

LUMPS, Leeds university reps
