💪 November is Men’s Health Awareness Month! 💙

This month, we’re shining a light on the importance of men taking charge of their health — body and mind.

👨‍⚕️ Regular check-ups, healthy eating, staying active, and talking openly about mental health can save lives.
🧠 Remember: It’s not weakness to ask for help — it’s strength.
💬 Check in on your friends, brothers, fathers, and sons. A simple conversation can make a big difference.

Let’s break the stigma and make men’s health a priority — not just this month, but every day. 💙

Emergency Alerts Test – Sunday 7 September 2025 at 3pm

What to know:
The UK Government will be running a test of the Emergency Alerts system at 3 pm on Sunday 7 September.

Phones and tablets that are compatible will emit a loud siren-like sound and vibrate, even if on silent.

You do not need to take any action during the alert — it's just a test.

This system is designed to warn you of local dangers like severe weather or other emergencies.

Important advice for those at risk of coercive control or domestic abuse: If you’re caring for someone who has a concealed phone or you're in a situation where unexpected alerts could cause harm, it’s vital to be aware and prepared.

Want to opt out?
You can turn off the Emergency Alerts for your device via this official page: gov.uk/alerts/opting-out

Need support or guidance? Leeds Women’s Aid offers tailored information and help on this:
leedswomensaid.co.uk/emergency-alert-test-sunday-7-september-2025

Why it's important:
Regular testing keeps the system reliable in real emergencies, when lives may depend on it.

Stay informed, stay safe.

🧠💜 September is World Alzheimer’s Month — a time to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and support those living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, as well as their families and caregivers.

Every 3 seconds, someone in the world develops dementia. Together, we can make a difference through understanding, compassion, and action.

💡 Learn the signs.
🤝 Offer support.
📢 Spread awareness.
💜 Stand with those affected.

Let’s work towards a future where no one faces Alzheimer’s alone.

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month ❤️‍🩹

Every 20 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer — but too many people still don’t know the symptoms.

Look out for:

Unexplained bruising or bleeding

Persistent fatigue

Frequent infections

Night sweats

Unexplained weight loss

Early diagnosis saves lives. Let’s spread the word, support those affected, and push for more research.
