🌈 Children’s Mental Health Matters 🌈

Children and young people can experience worries, stress, and big emotions — and that’s okay. What matters is recognising when they may need a little extra support.

During Children’s Mental Health Week, we want to remind families that support is available through the GP surgery and local services. Please get in touch if you have any concerns.

Due to staff sickness, AccuRx is closed and we are only able to see urgent requests today.

🌍 World Cancer Day 2026 🌍

Today we support World Cancer Day and stand with everyone affected by cancer.

At Crossley Street Surgery, we aim to see care from your point of view — listening to what matters to you, taking your concerns seriously, and involving you in decisions about your care.

Please contact the practice if you notice symptoms that are new, ongoing, or unusual for you, such as:
• unexplained weight loss
• a lump or swelling
• ongoing pain
• changes in bowel or bladder habits
• unusual bleeding
• a cough or hoarseness that doesn’t go away

These symptoms do not usually mean cancer, but it’s important to get them checked. We are here to listen, support you, and help you decide the next steps together.

Parent Mental Health Day 💙

Today is Parent Mental Health Day, a reminder that looking after your mental wellbeing is just as important as caring for your family.

Parenting can be rewarding, but it can also feel stressful, overwhelming, or isolating at times. Support is available, and you don’t have to cope on your own.

If you’re struggling, you can:
• Contact the practice to speak with your GP or a member of our clinical team
• Access NHS talking therapies (self-referral available in many areas)
• Reach out to trusted organisations such as Mind, PANDAS Foundation, or Family Lives for advice and support

If you’re in crisis or need urgent help, please contact NHS 111, your local crisis team, or call 999 in an emergency.

Taking care of yourself is not selfish — it’s essential 💙
